I'd actually be fine with the blueshield getting those fancy guns. Service service tend to have those kind of pieces in high risk situations, and SS13 is always high risk. Plus blueshields in general tend to be good players so I wouldn't feel bad about those.
They tend to be good players because it's basically a gimmick job. If they get assault rifles, all the shit players will want to be Blueshields just to shoot shit up with assault rifles. Also, as a Warden, it's kind of sad that Blueshields would have way better armament than Security. I thought they were glorified bodyguards, not primary defensive/offensive force, which they will turn into when they would get fancy guns.

Yeah, they're not getting fancy guns. They will however be able to order more non-lethal ammo for the Deckard from now on and also start with a clip of lethal rounds to use in crazy situations like when a rev has captured your captain or whatnot. Of course, it should be used wisely because you won't be able to replenish it.

So... is armoury getting assault rifles as roundstart equipment? Or at least some rocket launchers?
Please?

Let's just give Security the Nuke, and spawn the disk and code on HoS's desk. Can't commit crimes when you're pulverized into irradiated mist!

Re: Blueshield and automatics... not a good idea. Automatics are really strong against crew, and really weak against nuke ops or any other threat which would actually justify it (except maybe cult/rev). Plus I doubt most Blues would be able to uh, handle the responsibility.

Also I played Archangel once upon a time. Don't give sec rocket launchers. They will run around with it inhand all game and use it for really stupid reasons.

Seriously speaking of sec and rocket launchers/automatics/bulletsec in general, I could see one rifle and maybe a couple of SMGs locked somewhere in armoury in special locker that only Warden (or HoS) could access. I mean, I know we're glorified mall cops, but Nanotrasen could consider giving them something more than .45 rubber pistols.

Security on a research station does not ever need a fucking rocket launcher what is wrong with you. An assault rifle or two is feasible, but we have laser guns for a reason.

We're not a goddamn military.

Obviously each department should be given bluespace cannons that can only target the other departments. Should be a good way of ensuring stability on the station.

That'd be inefficient: one would actually need to walk up to the cannon and operate it. No, instead place a voice-activated bomb next to a radio speaker in each department except the brig, with the department's name as the codeword. Same with the crew and explosive implants, though of course, security members would be exempted.

You missed the joke and you're now mad. You made me feel bad because I almost feel like I trolled you, even if that wasn't even funny or actually baity for real.

Bulletsec.
We're not a goddamn military.
We're a goddamn PMC on high-value and high-risk research station. You would expect the Nanotrasen to give them something more than rubber bullet pistols in case of emergency. I'm not speaking about everyone running around with assault rifles around, they would sit in a crate and only be accessable by HoS or Warden or something.
Obviously each department should be given bluespace cannons that can only target the other departments. Should be a good way of ensuring stability on the station.
Could totally see that happening in Nations round, especially if the bluespace cannons would give out warnings. I wonder how long would it take the crew to reach MAD.
Same with the crew and explosive implants, though of course, security members would be exempted.
Yeah, explosive implants on Security are a bad idea. I still smile internally when I remember this one HoS who answered when someone else asked him the codeword to his explosive implant.

Private security, actually. Some members may be ex PMC contractors, some may be ex military, but for the most part its basically mallcops on a medium-security research station.
As the the thigns other than rubber rounds, the map has yet to be fully updated for bulletsec. The armory is likely to include some more non-shotgun ballistics instead of lasers, and the tactical storage may well have an assault weapon or two.
