Question for those that know.

I was playing a chemist and I'm trying to make a grenade.

I've followed the wiki's out there and they say put 2 beakers of whatever in the casing.  Ok did that  (cleaning grenade)
And for a 5 second timer, use a wire coil on the casing.  (this does not work)

I can however use a screwdriver to finish the casing and make a grenade but it never goes off after being primed.  Assuming since I cant add the cable coil to it.

Any advice or steps to go through?

What wiki are you using? On Urist, I believe it's just adding a timer to an igniter, then adding that to the grenade before finishing it.

IIRC you can make grenades with cable coil - that gives them a default, non-adjustable detonation time - but you need an igniter for that.

Tip so you don't need to learn it the hard way: 5 seconds is way too long a fuse for combat use. 2 seconds or, if you're feeling brave, just 1 second is required if you want that blinding, paralyzing, polyacid smoke-spewing, antag-only-or-get-banned grenade you can throw at the pesky redshirts.

Right click chatbox, select "Log". Check your BYOND directory for the file. It has a(n admittedly large) limit in lines to log, though, so if the game is particularly long, you might want multiple log files.
