I mean really.. some part of the station should start flooded with Phoron so us engineer's have something to do :D

Engineers always have loads to do, but there needs to be two of you, really. Let's see the list:
Set up the engine.
Set up the solars.
Set up the singuloth (better be feeling brave, and prepared to build a whole new wing).
Set up atmospherics.
Set up a waste coolant system.
Set up a waste overflow system.
Set up a secure airflow system for important areas.
Rewire the SMES and power systems so it won't instantly kill you with a shocked door.
Create new areas in space, with airlocks and everything.
Investigate space.
And that's all I can think of for now.

Cap gloves have a mild Siemens coefficient, which will protect you from a degree of electrical shock. They also offer some small protection against brute and burn damage for your hands.

Captains don't need to hack doors. But if an AI has electrified the doors, that may save your life.

If you've got to wire the solars as cap, just grab a pair of insulateds from engineering. If you can't get into engineering, then the solars are the least of your problems.
