i never really complained (even though i should what with my miniscule addition to the project) but the station is ridiculously inorganic

now this is rather good from a gameplay perspective, everything is pretty much clear, travel logistics are hella easy

but it does not make as much room for fluff as goonstation does - giloydstation's the product of a single shipyard that was probably hauled into orbit, for goonstation it's probable it was made the same way the iss was, and this is quite a niche concern but i started to pay attention to that in designs of habitats for my 2d spacemen a while back

I'd suspect it was a prefab docking bay with an attached U-shaped lattice.

I like Urist and its map.

Just feels nice.

Sure, it looks inorganic, but hey, when you have the tech and the materials, IMO, it'd be more effecient to assemble it all at once and tow it out.

So... I've been playing the infamous Goonstation for a long time. Then I have found out of this. Urist McStation. How does this station differ from Goon?

It has me.

NEVERFORGET EFFICIENCYSTATION V1 GLORIOUS MAINT.

Goon is basically different from tg and bay code in every single way. Tg is based on an old goon revision made public and bay is based either on that same revision or on an old tg revision, so there are some minor similarities, but goon is much more feature-oriented and has a somewhat dedicated dev team that generally ignores efficiency and minor bugs. Bay and tg are very similar because they share stuff a lot, and they have always done that.

Tg and bay have systematically refactored and improved old gooncode, and lag has been reduced a LOT, even eliminated in some cases.

Goon seems pretty fun and the devs are cool guys, though. If a new code release happened I wouldn't be very surprised, actually. It's just a different focus.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

Yeah, me neither. Also, is it just me or do Goon leaks seem to be happening more and more often?

well yeah, drama on the devteam i think

remember that lord singuloth is not a "gift" as many people like to put it, but a dev flipping the fuck out and spewing code like a shit faucet

goon has a tendency of rewriting everything that made it into open domain though

-snip-
Clowns are expected to honk at people, insult people, screw with the mime, challenge people to duels, perform "magic tricks" that involve welderbombing, as well as hacking into engineering to set up the power if there's no engineers. These things have all happened on this server.
I call bullshit n everything but the first one and the last one.
The penultimate one aswell, as that goes for everyone without saying.

There's a fine line between funny clown, annoying clown, and Griefer clown.

I go out of my way to make sure the latter two know what they're doing is annoying.

Past that, I could care less about them.

What's with the competition with goon and other servers? I heard there is some tension there.

Because goons keep their code locked up tighter than a keter SCP, while everyone else is pretty open with theirs.

Goon are generally very protective of their code, only allowing contributors to view it. Their code, in my opinion, is very good in some aspects.
