You know what? I've been thinking on this for a while, but. I sorta dislike how in baymed you can very easily get these permanent injuries that will put a big red pain message on your screen what seems like every few seconds. It's terrible because you can get these injuries by doing pretty much anything fun. Go to the bar for a casual drink? PAIN FOREVER. Take some drugs given to you by a chemist? PAIN FOREVER. Accidentally slam into a wall too hard? PAIN FOREVER. Drink some Thirteen Loko? PAIN FOREVER. Sometimes as the engineer take a little bit to much radiation setting up the engine? PAIN FOREVER.
Sometimes a doctor can treat it in what I am sure is a fun surgery for them but for you involved looking at a black screen for five minutes. But often you can't find a doctor for it and it doesn't actually do anything but send a annoying message to you over and over. Forever. So more often then not at this point I just ignore it, since it seems to happen pretty much every round.
It's annoying as hell.
Yes, if you down a liter of Vodka straight, you are going to have liver damage. If you slam into a wall, you're going to have broken bones. ALL of those can be fixed completely, but it takes some competence from medical personnel, which... varies. Wildly. Not in the least because where medical is the chillest, most boring job on /tg/, it is the most tense you get without personal endangerment on BS12.
Aside from the lack of staff, all of those have really easy solutions. Drink beer. Do not run past breaches. Get some painkillers (BTW, I hope we're getting the public paracetamol vendors soon-ish).
