That's how it works. All of the mob stumble over and shoot each other trying to get that one guy, and he doesn't have the same handicap of worrying about silly things like friendly fire.

Yep. Really, in most situations, it'd be best if the mob all stood on one tile and just windmilled around spraying taser fire all over the room. Easy counters include explosive weapons and flashbangs, but it would be awesome and hilarious to watch if difficult to set up.

For anyone following along with the big remake, they just posted a big update. They got a REALLY good UI designer:

and have been making some good progress to making it way more approachable (and enjoyable) to play with:

 and things seem to be progressing nicely - animation is in and working so that characters can, you know, actually move like humans (or cyborgs, or monkeys, or terrible aliens, or clowns presumably)

They seem to be slow at updating their homepage but are quite active on Facebook, Twitter, and their own Forums. A new website is forthcoming and looks as gorgeous as their new UI (which makes sense since I think the same guy is designing that too) This is really shaping up to have a lot of potential. Don't think they're combined as jobs, just sorted into categories. I don't think any of that is final anyway - they still haven't confirmed a 'final' job list and even then they are building around moddability/scripting as a core feature.

It's not a combination in the literal sense, but it does seem like MDs are considered part of Research. If they actually get something to research, I'm very enthusiastically for it - it is a very good design decision when you give a job that used to be dependent on what happens to other people something to do in their spare time.

BTW, anyone else notice that the Roboticist is a Medical Specialist now?

Actually, in the picture, Research is composed of a Geneticist, Roboticist and what's apparently a MD. Where da science at?

Which is why I managed to take out a full shuttle one round, I assume. Despite eguns and syringe guns with chloral in them.

Hell, my character blocked all the stun shots from one egun that Axl was using. I think that was my finest combat moment. My finest traitor moment was when me and the CMO worked together.


Just last night, in the event they were referencing, I stole the Head of Personnel's identity, and came into the Brig. Corai as Jon Irenicus said, "I'm forming a militia. This cannot possibly go wrong."
"... Awesome." I wander around a bit, and come back to the door. I get out my mini-crossbow and down them ALL. Four people in a second or two. I think the reaction I got from them was, "... Wow."

Then the wizard used the EMP spell and my thermals overloaded as did everything I had for weaponry, so I bolted into Security Maintenance.
