Personally this is how I would do a Xanatos gambit.
First I would kidnap someone important to the station, muzzle them, place a bomb in their bag, then leave them in a room that will kill them before they can escape from their restraints. I'll place a proximity bomb near the entrances in case anyone tries to rescue them or should they escape from their restraints before their death. Then I would weld the area off, and announce the location of the said person.
Now I'll go loot the armory if I haven't done so earlier. I'll have a bomb in my bag as a failsafe in case I choose to be silly instead of serious. I'll barricade Escape. Now for the outcomes.
If someone tries to rescue the prisoner/the prisoner escapes from the restraints without death the proximity bomb goes off when they get near. During that they'll waste time, giving me ample room to hijack the shuttle. Should they survive they'll waste time getting healed/heading back to escape.
Edit: Because of the new traitor item, I can check in on the prisoner seeing if anyone is there trying to save them, if a decent amount of people are close I will detonate the bomb in the prisoner's bag.
Instead if they decide to go for me at escape, I'll try to outrobust them in a firefight, cuff them, then toss them out of the airlock.
If they win against me and start lasering me/getting closer for cuffs I'll detonate the bomb in my bag, killing me and my assailant (hopefully) and effectively preventing anyone else from taking the shuttle.
