Or you know just point an emitter at the blob's core, and fire away.
* Kydrasz whistles casually. I swear I'm like the only one who does that.
Might want to be careful with that. The overmind has a power to rally all its floaty blobs in one spot, so when it sees you setting an emitter up you'll probably get mobbed :P
You see the thing about emitter beams is that they go on forever. Just mark where the core is then move north/east/west/south whichever catches your fancy. Then set up the emitter to fire in that direction of the core, then you cut every wall that stands between the emitter and the core.
seems kinda broken can't they make the blob immune to emitter shots?

That doesn't seem like an optimal solution. Perhaps a type of blob tile that can block just about anything (including emitters), but which can only be placed in limited number (say, 3 at most, to prevent the OM from just boxing their core entirely), and requires a few seconds to grow. That would allow emitters to still be viable while giving an attentive overmind a chance to stop them. Just a thought.

Not particularly broken, I think. Emitters are basically the same thing as a laser gun in terms of what they'll do to a blob, except that in exchange for requiring electric power and setting up, they don't need recharging. It fairs somewhat favorably to a guy with an e-gun who's unwrenched a charger, but mostly because you don't need a living person to operate it once it's been set up.

but a blob can kill the guy with a laser gun can it stop a emitter?

Easy Not so easy. Spread to wherever the power is being made.

If you can actually control your blob minions then either start in Engineering or cargo and have blobs harass the wing not occupied.  Cutting out the station's power would prove the best since the QM will have to continuously order power cells.

They wander around on their own, but can be forced to gather at a specific spot with the rally order. Rally orders, like all powers, can only be used in or within one tile of a blob tile. In all honesty, they're terrible fighters. They do 2-4 damage per hit, but they spawn from the factory for free after you grow one. They make good distractions and might actually kill someone if you send them in a group.

Does the blob still have the power to eat through walls/floors? Because if it can, that seems like a good way to get rid of emitters - just break the power cables.

The blob attacks (and destroys) emitters if it spreads next to them, luckily.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.
