As an old vet of Baystation 12, anything I should know other then the OP for this server before playing on it?

Killing when non-antag is normally frowned upon. Metagaming is frowned upon. Other than that, dont be an ass as a clown, and do unto others as you want done unto you.

Note that it's unwarranted killing as a non-antag that's not okay. If you've got plenty of IC reason to use lethal force (i.e. it would not be an unreasonable response were you actually in that situation), it will usually fly, even if the person you kill is pissed off that you didn't let them do whatever they wanted to you.

Also, if you see a HoS or Captain by the name of Lillian, try to avoid drawing her attention.

Space Station 13...

The last time I tried to play this I was met with:

- IZ SERIOUS BUSINESS players.
- Power-mad admin.

I'm glad they're fixing the lag but I doubt they'll ever fix the other two problems.

NOTE: I don't think I was playing on the Bay 12 server so I'm not making a comment on that but I tried a few and they were all the same.

Pop on when it's just me, Corai, Redfox and Jacob_Lee. While Redfox is slightly power-mad, but during those rounds it's all good fun until Corai and Redfox decide to murder me.

We haven't had bad lag since the very first server we were running, no one in here really takes the game seriously, and the admins only go power-mad in a GOOD way (or not at all if I'm on). So yeah.

EDIT: Found out how to get a server show up on the BYOND SS13 hub, and as soon as Vactor says he's got it we'll be prepared to open up the server starting on Friday. Get hype.

Actual useful advice about this server:

We're currently running the Metastation map, not the TG map we usually do.
The regulars are very cliquish and will go on and on about their characters and ignore what non-regulars do and say. They will also gang up on you if one is accused of something and you don't have very solid proof.
One of our admins, Hans, plays a character that likes torturing people. He is a very good admin, though.
ReFox is the nice admin! But a bit boring. He responds to prayers entirely via cookies and tries not to badmin it up.
Nienhaus our third admin, despite his assertions to the contrary, is a jerk. Mostly fair with adminhelps, though.
Our fourth and final admin Glloyd is making us a new map!
