Ok guys, some important information has just come to my attention.

BYOND, the game client SS13 runs on, have come out and said that they are in financial trouble. They say they may have to shut down in the future (time frame uncertain), and without the BYOND backend, it may be more difficult for us to operate the game as it is.

BYOND has asked that everyone update to the latest client, which has ads displayed before a game launches. These ads can be skipped by becoming a BYOND member for $24 dollars per year, or other payment options for 6 and 3 month memberships. I am going to put a poll up ingame seeking opinions on whether we should extend the amount of time between rounds (currently 90 seconds) in case the ads make it difficult for people to get into rounds before they start. Please dont vote on this until you try the ads.

While none of this is being forced on any of you, we should do our best to help support them as we would not have SS13 if not for BYOND. /TG/ put out a similar request, which you can read here, and I recommend doing so for a bit more clarity on the situation than I may have stated.

Man that's terrible for Byond.  I wouldn't mind ads, a link to the patch please?

I could be an admin. I would be the best admin. The kind of admin that gets demoted after three days for being too awesome and of whom nobody ever speaks again or does so hush-hush in the maintenance corridors, by candlelight.
You might not realise it, but there's a specific in game term for this. Badmin! You might think it just refers to bad admins, but you couldn't be more wrong! Badmins are the kind of admins who, rather than just being bad at adminning, spesifically destroy rounds by spawning things, messing with traitors or outright killing players/spawning Xenos.
Usually they're the very worst admins. Though on a rare occasion, they're absolutely the best.

oh you've never seen me admin. the people who have seen however. :3c

Most admins start out as badmins, getting a realization that they can do crazy shit once they get promoted. Eventually, that dies down and they just become a normal admin. At least that's how it happened for me.

Controlled amounts of badminning is, in my opinion, bestminning.

Keeps things fresh.

I'm also not in favor of going public. It would bring too many people at one time, it's just... not as controlled.

So, does anyone know where the bookmarks button went in this fancy newer byond? That was sorta important to not needing to look up the link all the time.

If we are voting, I say not to go public. The benefits are outweighed by the risks.

I think we should just keep it as it is, not exclusively Bay12 since people who find the server can play.  There is really no point in opening the server up since it isn't like every public server got shut down or something.

That moment where it's painfully obvious that someone is an antag trying to lure you into an isolated area, but you go in and die anyways because they haven't done anything overtly suspicious IC. The joys of avoiding meta. :|
