That would probably be really hard to implement.

As for the original system, it was fine as it was. You didn't have to frustratedly irradiate the fuck out of your target just to get something at all to happen, you could manipulate a few key things you knew about in order to enact more simple changes, but you still had to poke around a fair bit to figure out the more advanced, fun stuff.

Well *I* think that alien round was fun.
I still fail horribly at "robusting", and one guy I did tackle got back up with "minor scratches" after being sliced 6 times... death squads lol.
But one of us escaped on a pod and infested the centcomm ship, so it's not a complete loss (:
Also altogether we got 2/4 of the operatives.

Fun fact: You can't melt reinforced walls. This is a problem when you start in the gateway.

I was a hunter, but couldn't ventcrawl for some reason.  Unless all the vents I tried were welded and I just didn't notice

You were passing by 18 before the AI went rogue. Mainly because of botany and those muffins the cook made.

EDIT: Retroactively increasing sec's score to 50, because the HoS saved me from fire. Still not a pass...

Suddenly, everything is on fire and I'm trapped in Engineering between those two doors by the CE office. So I break into the CE office, blow his locker to smithereens, stealing his gloves and toolbox, and breaking out of Engineering. I get into atmos, and shut off ALL THE THINGS.

Then I managed to find Jay Wright the Inspector in the maintenance and dragged him to safety from one fire, then somehow survived getting on the shuttle INSIDE A SECOND FIRE. I'M DA BOSS.

Actually we would have passed if it wasn't for me, since I did set the bridge on fire, so +50 points right there. I am, of course, not counting any further loss in points due to more crew dickery.

Also, I somehow managed to win without realizing it. Go me?

I've never even grown the aesir salad ingredients in-game, much less watched them presented to an inspector!  I'm so happy  :'(
Even if he did eat nothing but muffins... heh.

I should have checked the ambrosia deus's potency, because I couldn't tell if it was healing people.  Apparently it does contain bicaridine, synaptizine, and hyperzine though.  Each in roughly equal proportion to the space drugs, about 2 units of each in each leaf.
Combining 3 leaves with a golden apple makes the salad which, through culinary magic, contains an *additional* 8 units of *tricord*.

So... dang.  My satchel full of healing herbs wasn't healing the burn damage at all.  I did have one salad, but it was the last remaining sample of Golden Apple DNA.  People get cloned, advances in botany science are forever!
