Protip. Don't like the brig? STOP DOING ILLEGAL SHIT. And you get adrenaline running from sec officers in shitty byond? What is wrong with your adrenal glands? They aren't even trying to hurt or kill you. They're trying to throw you in a small cell for two minutes.
Know who doesn't get adrenaline rushes chasing down EVERY SINGLE FUCKING THIEF AND VANDAL FOR TEN MINUTES? Security. I cannot emphasize how soul crushing that job is when you have to chase down, and catch, non-lethally, every single little shit. Who feel perfectly validated trying to disarm and stun you.
We spend our entire round trying to protect you people. Make sure you can have fun without someone ruining it. We try our best. We're the ones who would die trying to save you people. We are obligated to help you. The least you could do is sit in that freaking brig for two minutes when you break the rules and get caught. Instead of wasting a half hour of our time and making our lives miserable.
PROTIP:
If you hate playing security so much, stop. Go back to CoD, or whatever lame rebuttal you want to throw at people who don't play the game the way you want them to.
That said, I don't usually do much illegal stuff. If I do something illegal and get caught (which is a very rare scenario) I'll typically just go along to the brig, unless I'm an antag and figure my cover is blown, then I run like hell. But I play my characters pretty much as law abiding, unless of course I'm the clown. Because that's his job.
If I think there's a legitimate misunderstanding, I'll happily go along and clear it up. I don't want security chasing after me all round.
If people have been going to the brig and disappearing, or the captain has already murdered crew members, or I'm just being falsely accused of something, no, I'm not going to quietly going along with it. That's not meta, it's a rational response.
And the clown's job is to be a general annoyance, and run from security, preferably while slipping them up on a banana peel. And that doesn't mean you get to murder him.
Anyway, who are these people running around doing illegal stuff and running from security? I mean, as a non antag it is against the rules to go around stealing and what not, isn't it? I honestly haven't seen very much of that. But if people are just being troublemakers, aren't they breaking rule 1 anyway?
I've seen Axl play security quite a few times. He does a pretty good job catching and chasing down traitors. He also doesn't seem to go around randomly stunning and beating people up, and isn't whining in OOC the whole time. I've played security a couple of times. I got blown up by a non antag when I tried to arrest him. That's something to complain about.
