1. You're not supposed to leave people cuffed in the cell unless they fought you.
2. You're NOT supposed to buckle cuff someone that isn't a SERIOUS THREAT.

You know who fights you and is a serious threat? Traitors are. So, if you are a traitor, you are risking being pretty much being permanently put out of the game without the possibility of doing anything.

Besides, honestly, what's the point of leaving people cuffed in the cell? Unless you missed something while stripping, the most a prisoner could do is knock on the windows and hurt himself. Of course, they may be a wizard or a changeling, but you should know that once you've arrested them. Still, if they try to do literally ANYTHING, there is the wall-mounted flash.


This is... Exactly what I was saying...? And not all traitors should fight. In reality, you wouldn't try to fight in some situations where it's absolutely obvious you can't win. Why would you do so in game? That's bad RP.

If you cuff/buckle them in case of Gr3y T1de event, it's horribad meta and you should be ashamed.

As for suiciding, it's EXTREMELY bad RP, reduces the number of traitors, whose job is basically making the round interesting, and forces people to play as pAI IF someone happens to request one or to ghost and wait for a random event to happen.


It is not bad RP. Let's say you are a secret operative, an assassin, a spy, and a traitor, working for an extremely secretive, extremely powerful and dangerous organization hellbent on achieving their objectives. You fail in your mission, are captured, and outed as a spy and traitor. Your options are: Either sit in jail and let them try/execute/permabrig you. Trials are neat RP fun, but ultimately unproductive and pointless, because trials only ever happen when the evidence is overwhelming.
Option two is attempt to escape (I could have escaped, I learned after my death. The AI told the borg to rescue me. I didn't know this.) and complete your objectives anyway. But at the point I was at, this wasn't actually a very good option, what with the warden having a shotgun pointed at my face the entire time I was in jail.
Option three? Option three is kill yourself, and it makes the most sense for the character I was playing. He was a subverted Captain, a high-ranking, powerful official who had decided to turn traitor. The things he knew about the Syndicate were not just valuable to Nanotrasen, they were highly dangerous things to know. His future was either: Immediate execution/trial-then-executed or get sent to CentComm, have your brain picked apart by the finest torturers, interrogators, and other individuals of the least gentle professions, then be executed or murdered by another Syndicate operative to keep their secrets. He was a fanatic, utterly willing to kill and maim and BURN for the Syndicate. Death was nothing to this man, at this point. His only options were success or death.

Killing yourself when you're captured is purely situation based, in my opinion. If nothing fun is really going to come out of you staying alive, then you may as well do it. Although if people want to run a trial, or for whatever reason you think there's a way for you to escape, don't just immediately kill yourself. At the very least, don't kill yourself as soon as you're thrown into the brig. Let security have a bit of fun interrogating you.

Unless it's rev and you're the captain, then they should kill themselves ASAP.

I felt in the situation I was in, that death was the best option. I also figured they would try and stop me as soon as I started, so I did it REALLY FAST. No one had a chance to react. :x

So an engineer goes missing from the station, and yells over the radio the captain injected him and threw him out.  So the crew does... nothing?

I released the singularity to get the shuttle called to save my life, but it went the wrong way. I ended up eaten by carp... I don't know what the hell I could have done there.

So I was traitor captain, and had a brief love affair with SecBorg 373. At the end, he declared his love for me. It was a beautiful moment. Thanks for that Vactor.

Honestly, that was really damn boring for me. But the love affair sounds nice.

Note to people, though: Be interesting if you end up traitor captain. Awkward crew aside (3 shaft miners and no QM, Roboticist and no one else in Research until much later, HoS, CE, engineer, janitor, etc), that was a boring round to be in rp-wise, from my lonly robotics position.

My problem with being Traitor Captain was that the singularity fucking escaped. Since I didn't have something simple to get the shuttle called, and we had a damnable AI, I had to try and use plasma to set enough fires to get it called/make people thing it was the AI being evulz. Also, I should have thrown the HoS and those two engineers into space. But the CMO was at his personnel computer. :x

I let the singularity out, to try to get the shuttle called. After the captain tried to murder me, and nobody except Axl seemed to care, I figured I had to take matters into my own hands if I wanted to survive.  The singularity took a bite out of engineering, then buggered off...

The CE thought the AI was rogue for some reason, and demanded the AI let him into its core. The AI refused, which he took as confirmation that it was rogue.  The AI's reasoning was that it didn't want him in the core, because he could reprogram it to cause harm.
I'm not sure how I feel about that. It's a logical line of thought, but only indirectly.  Almost anything could be justified that way. "I killed him because he would cause harm", or "If all crew are locked in their rooms, nobody will be harmed".  Then again, maybe the AI really was rogue.

So I planned to move on to atmospherics, and release some plasma into the air to get people scared enough to call the shuttle.  On my way there, I got carped.  The end....

So the first round I played was rogue HoS and AI, the second round was rogue Captain.  Those are damn tough rounds.  Both the HoS and captain can really lurk around wherever the hell they want without raising suspicion, and even if the captain fails a murder attempt, nobody will believe his accuser.  Oh well, I almost managed to escape with my life.

Atmospherics tips: turn off the air supply pipes and set the waste in pump to 0 kPa. Then pump CO2, plasma and nitrous oxide into the mix tank and feed that to the distribution loop at 4500 kPa. You'll still have to configure the air alarms to do internal pressure checks or replace air to kick out your mix effectively tough. Mixing Nitrous Oxide in with the plasma means that your victims will be knocked out and lay still while they are burned to death/toxin'd to death. Hook your loop up to the port system and superheat your gas mix using the heater. Let the plasma, nitrous oxide and CO2 go to the pure pipes, then feed those into the port system pipes with the heater, then feed them back to the waste loop. Set the filters to not filter out anything, and feed the unfiltered gasses to the mix. That makes it much more deadly, because high temperature > low temperature when you're dealing with killing people.

And I can't repeat this enough: for it to have any effect, you'll have to configure the air alarms.
