So the round started off, Lola just served a few drinks and casually flirted with customers.
Didn't have any glasses though, so mixed drinks had to wait- everyone had to just drink from the bottles.
By the time I got some damn glasses there was some sort of virus emergency, everyone ran off to deal with that and then we were told to remain in our workstations.
Around this time I had to go AFK, so Lola fearfully hid in the bar storage closet as whatever virus outbreak was contained. By the time I got back, the alchohol ban had just been announced.
Lola walked out and demanded an explantation just as the Captain marched in, and thus followed a nasty argument as Sec confiscated the booze from the tables and, apparently, electrified the booze-o-mat. (Lola didn't feel like testing it to find out.) This was the point where my little 'revolution' started to gain steam, I chatted with Astrid in the kitchen next to me, exchanged messages with the warden, (poor guy) and got friendly with Trevor the detective.
After that, having nothing to do at the bar, I wandered over to see Damian in cargo- I had already responded to a message he'd sent me asking what to do with the party crates he'd ordered now that booze was banned, and Lola saucily suggested they 'dispose of it ourselves'.
This was made easier and less suspicious by the fact that someone suggested I go help out at cargo now that I had no bar to tend.
So Damian and Lola get drunk in the Quartermaster office, with her chatting him up slowly, paving the way to recruit him as a rev. After a while he had to get back to work, the Captain demanded his order records, and Lola slunk off back to the restaurant area.
Can't remember exactly what happened, here. I know Astrid spoke to me and Axl at one point about making moonshine, I considered them both potential recruits. Then Danielle went crazy in the Medbay, the Captain marched in and started shouting/growling about 'making an example'- Lola did not like that idea one bit, confronting the Captain on it.
Trevor dragged her away before she could make too much of a scene, and Danielle was brutally beaten with stun rods, much to Lola's (obvious) horror.
Trevor comforted her, and then after a while she wandered back over to Cargo, trembling with shock and asking Damian to let her in. He did, and then she whispered to him about what had just happened- telling him how the captain was going crazy and out of control, and then asked him to lathe her a circular saw so she could saw off her shotgun.
He did so, (I can't remember if I recruited him at this point or a bit later) and thus Lola pecked him on the cheek, skipped out back to the bar and sawed off the shotgun. Sadly it was still only loaded with beanbag rounds, I couldn't quite think how she'd convince Damian to put himself at risk to get me lethal ones.
At some point Axl was thrown into brig, as was Damian, and I recruited Astrid after another whispered conversation in the pantry. A whole lot of stuff was going on at this point, hard to remember it all.
Also, Trevor came up to Lola and got her to follow him up near the escape shuttle dock, and gave her the code to his safe should anything happen to him.
Lola fearfully told him to be careful, he smiled, and then headed off.
The next major event, and the turning point where cards were really down on the table, came when the Captain ordered everyone to the Maltese Falcon. This was a bother, as I was already there and I had Damian off making lethal shotgun rounds on the lathe- obviously I'd recruited him by this point.
I thought Lola was done for as it became clear what the Captain planned, and naturally she objected bitterly. Damian turned up, then fled. I messaged him telling him to 'fucking run', but shortly later after the captain speechifying for a bit and firing a laser he was dragged back in, looking quite injured.
The Captain ordered everyone into Medbay. Lola demanded to know what he'd done to poor Damian. He started firing more warning shots, and she hastened to the medbay, where Damian was being cuffed, buckled to a chair and beaten.
The Captain entered and threatened to execute him, Lola confronted him and told him not to dare, and then everything got crazy as Astrid attacked the captain with a knife. I grabbed out my sawnoff and rushed the captain, but I was too late to do anything for poor Astrid- and I was standing too close to the captain in a derp moment and ended up just whacking him a couple of times. I then stepped back and tried to fire at him, but the gun just clicked for some reason... No real matter, as the beanbag rounds wouldn't have done much anyway.
The captain shot me, thankfully it hit my armour, and I/Lola ran off to Primary Storage, grabbed a toolbox and broke into Cargo. (This seems to happen whenever I play bartender.) I lathed up a bunch of lethal shells, loaded the shotgun and then Sean showed up.
I told him to keep back, seeing as he was one of the captain's minions, but eventually he convinced me I could trust him (partly by handing over the box of implants as a sign of good faith, claiming he never intended to use them). At this time Damian showed up, covered in blood in a hardsuit. I'm still not sure exactly how he escaped, but whatever, Lola was suitably happy to see him.
At that point various plans of liberation were tossed about, I received a message from the Warden, asking me if I was okay and such. I answered him rather rudely, and apparently upset by that he offered to leave a laser pistol on the arrivals shuttle for me. I didn't really trust him, assuming it was a trap, so I sent Sean up to check. It wasn't there. A moment later I got another text from the warden, saying he'd needed it to deal with something. At that moment Lola wrote him off and decided he was definitely an enemy.
Then Trevor showed up as well, making us a group of four. Lola was a tad bit uncertain whose side he was on, but still decided to trust him. There was an argument over just what to do about the captain- Sean and Damian were definitely for killing him, Trevor, being the law dude, was ardently against it.
Lola gently tried to convince the detective that we had no choice, and eventually we settled on sparing the captain if it was at all possible(not that that seemed overly likely. Lola had no intention of ever letting the captain live).
Just as we were all heading off, to Medbay where the captain was apparently incapacitated somehow, we were confronted by Ed/Eduardo/whatever the hell his name was, the Warden. He said he'd been looking all over for Lola, and then asked what Trevor was doing with us. Trev raised his hands, I quickly caught on and Lola shouted something like, "A hostage! Now get back or I'll blow his head off!"
I looked down to quickly type and emote, jabbing the shotgun in Trevor's direction, and looked up to see Ed charge foward heroically, tasing both me, Sean and Damian in a mad flurry of shooting.
We're all lying on the ground, cursing, and Lola growls at Trev to shoot him- which he promptly does, despite his lawfulness.
Seriously. That was one of the most amazing parts of the round.
Then poor Ed is brutally beaten to death by Damo and Sean, as the detective looks on in horror and tries to save him with CPR. OOCly I was all like 'CRUSH KILL DESTROY' as well, but that didn't seem like Lola's style, so she just grabbed his energy gun, kicked him once or twice, called him an asshole and then told Damian to stop.
I feel kinda sorry for Ed, or Danielle or whoever it was, since apparently they WERE actually against the captain... But y'know, such is life.
After that, the shuttle was called and then recalled, and we went looking for the captain around the shuttle dock. I shot a slime that was in the hallway, and I think that was pretty much the only time I fired a weapon- apart from when I shot myself in the face with beanbag rounds whilst sawing off my shotgun. -_-
Lola took a moment to grab a sunflower from botany and stick it in a pocket, adn then we started moving back up through the halls, I guess we were looking for the captain.
Trevor had gone ahead a bit, when suddenly the captain (Who had been raving madly over the comms about killing us all) bursts out behind us, shoots me and Damian (and possibly Sean, unless he was off somewhere in a mech by this point) down before we can react. Lola starts screaming for Trevor as the captain begins viciously hitting Damo in the head with a circular saw, he's just moved on to Lola when Trevor comes back around the corner and opens fire... I don't really remember what happened after that, but Lola managed to stand and then hauled ass around the corner.
She'd just started to creep back, grabbing up the energy gun, asking for the others over comms and looking cautiously around(obviously very traumatised at the fate of her friends, you see) when there was a massive gravity spike. Oh man that was annoying. I was stranded out in the middle of the hall for quite a while until it finally stopped.
Then I headed back down the hall and found the Quartermaster and Detective both alive, Trevor trying desperately to revive the dying captain lying in the middle of the hall. Lola dropped her gun, embraced them both and had a bit of a nervous breakdown, and then it was back to business.
After that it was pretty much a matter of grabbing the captain's ID, heading with Trevor to the bridge and giving a heartfelt apology about not being able to take the captain alive, and then calling the shuttle and getting the hell out of dodge.
As we were waiting on the shuttle in the Evac hallway, Sean (the only one of the three Lola
hadn't flirted with) asks her out to dinner once they got back to Centcomm.
There was pretty much a major awkward moment, with Lola smiling and saying something about having to wait til after their debriefing... And then THANK GOD the shuttle arrived.
Lola dragged poor Astrid onboard, and I think someone grabbed the captain.
Then Lola exhaled with relief, put the gun away, calmed herself down and went into awkwardness damage control, trying to disarm the whole 'flirting with each of them and using them in her plans' issue.
I had a great line about "You guys are like brothers to me" ready to go when the game ended.
Aww.
