Executable files don't seem to be working for me and thus I can't open the game normally.

Open BYOND.  On the top-left somewhere, click the "Open" button.  It should be more apparent once you are in said window.  Just copy the IP of the server you want into the correct bar and click Add.

I think what he means is that a similarity explosion takes out the PA, which makes recovery exceedingly difficult.

That said, I need to learn how to do the singularity. It's fun!

 Not as fun as solars. Clambering about the outside of the station is always fun. Though, I grant that both the singo and the PA are significantly more !!FUN!! than the solars.

The solars are also a massive pain-in-the-ass to troubleshoot if something goes wrong.  By the same merit they are exceedingly easy for tators to trouble-shoot.

Reminds me of a few times I nicked all the spare singularity gear and built one in cargo.  Those were fun rounds, especially when people killed themselves on the super-charged metal mesh barriers around cargo.

Yeah, solars are all well and good, until you fuck up the wiring so bad that admins spawn in drones to block off the solars, and one of the drones self-destructs because your wiring is so shitty.

I vaguely remember that.  The wiring was so bad the admins banded together to make viewing it equivalent to opening the Ark of the Covenant.

Let me assure everyone that I've learned to wire the solars so they don't melt your face off.

I kind of wish the solars came in pre-wired, so you can actually play the game without someone going engineer, just that you will be in trouble if traitors took out the solars.
