I like how he specifically mentioned setting on fire coming from TG, while a lot of those things are actually TG ports. Didnt know bay ported so much of our stuff.

So who else is ready for Glloyd to forget to remove the xeno ERT mirror and we get tajaraRT that robusts all the antags with their hyperspeed, double fist damage and invisibility?

Oh, happy day.

As if fires at the moment weren't already massively OP. Anyways, the update seems...interesting. Swag/cosmetic wise it seems very good, I'm not sure what it means by refactoring gun recoil (less, more?), and I'l need more elaboration on how disarm and grab works now. As well, I am worried for the huge antag rework for Vox and generally all around.
Most of the antag stuff is back-end; it means antags are no longer tied to the gamemode so much, allowing things like traitorchan with any combination of antags without defining a separate gamemode for it - just have people vote for additional antag X during an antag Y round, random-event spawned antags, that kinda thing, without needing them be coded as specific unique cases to handle.

Vox are not reworked; it's just that they are no longer part of the parcel playing a Heist. You could make an all-Vox crew, but it's no longer the default.

Disarms, AFAIK, were not changed much if at all. They just are used by the new things you can do in Grab. Grabs, IIRC, were made to no longer be pathetic - that is, you cannot just run outta one but you need to break it.

They also, depending on intent, grab level, bodypart aimed at and/or item held, allow some special moves, a'la Dwarf Fortress Adventurer Mode wrestling:

Neck grab stuff:
- jointlocks and joint-breaks on limbs on Harm - the former is painful, the latter... well, figure out what it does
- eye-squishing, on eyes, does some eye damage, duh
- knifing - you know how there was no real way to take someone hostage with a melee weapon, because it takes so much hits to kill someone you'd get tasered fifty times over? Well, if you have a knife and target head (and attack, obvs), you can slit someone's throat now for 60 Brute and 60 Oxy.

Aggressive grabs:
- Harm on Head to Headbutt - 20 damage to target at cost of 10 damage to attacker.
- Disarm on whatever - pin a person down to the ground, a wrestling version of a push essentially

All of the aboves are click with intent

- Aim for eyes with hand-grab: covers victim's eyes, blinding them
- Mouth, muzzles, same deal.

Two people grabbing each other - dancing. Lel.
You can also click a grab to buckle people. QoL I guess.

Did Bay port martial arts from tg? Those are great fun, even if you need hotkeys to use them.

I was there on bay for the first big Heist round. A Vox tore the eyes out of another vox. And then smashed him through a GODDAMN WINDOW.

Combat! :D

Is that a thing we're going to get? As far as I know you can't scratch eyes out or throw people THROUGH windows.

Bay has it, therefore we have it.

And you already can throw people through windows. Its just very rare because windows are rarely damaged enough on both sides for both to be destroyed in one throw.

Reminder to admins: please avoid using the 'power up all APCs' secret; as of now, for reasons not entirely clear*, it drains APCs across z-levels instead of charging them.

Thank you!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

*If anyone knows why that's the case, please shed light on that, I'd be grateful.

Well, I should clarify. The vox was smashed up AGAINST the window, which broke it. Which was AWESOME.

Bay still uses shitty border windows?
I very much recommend moving to full-tile windows, border windows casue a lot of issues really.

what issues, other than the invictible window bug (which already got patched away)

also fyi: if you're using the devmap from bay, there's a giant fucking smes on the engineering shuttle, if you charge it to ~60% onstation you'll recharge pretty much everything barring the existence of a power sink on the asteroid

I'd like this. They look so much nicer. Faster to smash through though.

dont think ours are faster to smash through, really. they have the same health as two border windows which makes it harder to kill them completely, but not really harder to smash THROUGH, since you only ever need to smash two anyway.
