Its nice to use them to remember when you play more than one person, or go away and come back after a while.

Does that include useing them for RP in a roleplaying game?

Hell most admins don't endorse the use of skills anyway. And I seriously think the admins have other things to monitor than if people doing x job have skills, what with all the other more griefier things going on.  Adminning is already hell just monitoring the round without checking the skills of every single person.

Who each person is. Say, you have 10 people, and each does different things, different backgrounds, etc. If you go back to playing one after a few months its nice to be able to see what they are like.

Yah, they dont. They have no affect on the game itself, and arent required in the slightest (I think this was said allready), but my point still stands. They are good for your roleplay, even if they dont affect others.

Don't you have only like three character slots? All of which already being defined by flavour text, job-selection settings, and records?

Also, flavor text is mostly jsut what others see, job selection is always wierd, and about as many people fill out records as use the skill system. Im not counting people who write bullshit in their records. Plus, Records are just what Nanotessen knows about you.

Because NT doesn't seem like the kind of entity that hires retirees or people that have been fired.

From what I can tell, like most crashes, it's not something that someone in particular did, the server just crashes.
