Spoiler (click to show/hide)

not being able to drag-load the smartchemfridge is really impeding my ability to produce and display more chems than the station will ever need

loading it by hand is effort like holy shit

Heh. You know, you actually just inspired me to start Chemisting again.

What part of 'BS12' did you miss? :P

In other news, 'laser guns' renamed to 'laser carbines'.

Thats nice. I like carbines, and it defines what sort of gun they are.

Wait, aren't they pistols? Carbines are usually two handed.

They are supposed to be rifles like pulse rifles, but lighter for indoor/urban use. It is just that all guns in the game are one handed for various reasons.

Yeah, I always pictured them as being kind of like sawed-off shotguns, which work as a one-handed rifle thing.

See, this is the answer to a question I asked a while ago, but I didn't know that UI had a particular name.

Though now I'm really curious to dig into the UI to see exactly what the BS12 people have done to *make* it that laggy. It looks like a pretty standard HTML document, I see no reason why it has to be a laggy mess. I imagine the answer is 'BYOND' XD

I guess it makes sense as a progression. Taser/Laser pistol (rare) -> Laser carbine -> Pulse Rifle.

NanoUI is javascript, but most coders have no idea of how it works and thus cannot fix bugs or clean up code. Apart from that, it processes every tick, which is a thing you want to avoid as much as possible.

Compare this to normal HTML and tg's sexy "popup" datums, which are very lightweight and easy to code and understand, and it becomes obvious why nanoUI should only be given to things that would benefit from it.

Also, soon BS12 will rename Nanotrasen into Nanotech Inc if they keep renaming things at this rate :P

I suppose laser guns don't have any recoil to them, so no need for a stock. Only problem would be weight. Would the equipment required to make a laser weigh much?

Yes, but miniaturization is a thing...

As for recoil, depends on how they run it. If they do something funny with some sorta repeaters...
