Not more strict, but nearly as strict :v
We've moved far away from moderate RP, imo.

That is actually the complete opposite of what some people think, in that ever since public our server has become LESS strict on RP. I've never heard people saying that we have become more strict.

Oh, heh, that reminds me. That ling round yesterday, where there was an explosion in Arrivals? That was me trying to get out of maint. I went in as Beepsky was exiting it, with the assumption that the RD ID I stole would open it, but I was wrong, I forgot where I was when I asked AI for a bailout, and I had a signaller assembly I made earlier on me and a fueltank nearby, so I rigged a bomb near the door just to get through.

But you can still get punished much more easily on Bay. Plus, we had flagrant meta yesterday during that ling round, that kind of stuff would get you banned into stratosphere on Bay.

It'll get you banned on Urist if there's admins on. If not....

Server has been updated and is back up.

After speaking with Glloyd we agreed to add a Donate button.

I am happy to host you guys, but it does cost me about $10-$15 each month in electricity to leave the server online 24/7.(Urist McStation is the only thing I'm hosting on it atm)

I don't want anyone to feel like they are obligated to give me money, (i was a broke student in my own day) but if anyone is interested in chipping in on the costs, the donate button links to my paypal account.  (keep in mind paypal takes $0.30 per transaction)

I don't expect a lot of donations, but I'll be sure to do periodic reports for the sake of transparency.  I've hosted for about a year, so I hope there is some level of trust here.

Thanks for reading, and sorry again for the downtimes.

NEW COMMAND REPORT CREATED

Attention! All crews of U.M.C.S model stations will be undergoing improvised weapons training in case of an emergency. Because you are all extremely loyal to Nanotrasen, we trust that this won't cause ANY issues at all for our security staff.

Glory to Nanotrasen!


'tis a smaller update this time. The big thing here is improvised weapons and armour.

  • improvised weapons from /tg/!
  • new improvised weapons!
  • improvised armour!
  • tons and tons and tons of new clothing (a bunch of which are dresses)
  • 4 new vending machines for clothing!
  • 3 new vanity items for the merchandise console! (2 watches, which will show the time when examined, and a comb that will give a message to you and those around you when clicked on.
  • some minor map fixes
  • some balancing in terms of roundtype frequency
  • oodles of bugfixes
  • a remap of the pool area. A chunk of it has been changed into a store of sorts, featuring all of the new vending machines.

And that's about it. Next update will come in a week or two, and will have mobs on fire, along with some other minor stuff. After that, it's dryables and smokables for hydro.

Here are the recipes for the weapons:

bedsheet+glass shard = shiv  (The shiv is designed to be made out of stuff you can get in the prison wing. Keep that in mind inmates, there is a bedsheet bin there)
cablecuffs+rod = wirerod
wirerod+shard = spear
wirerod+wirecutters = cattleprod
wirerod+rod = quarterstaff

And here is the chain for the improvised armour vest:

hazardvest+wirecutters -> cablecoil -> metal sheet -> cablecoil = improvised armour

The server has been updated and all of this is live.

As Vactor mentioned in the post before this one, we have decided to add an option to donate in order to maintain the server, and help pay for some of the costs. There's no perks besides feeling good and supporting UMcS, and helping keep the server running. You'll see the link in the MOTD and the top right of your screen, beside the changelog button.

Glloyd, very pretty please with a bass clave on top, can you port /vg/'s Bar Jukebox? It really adds to the atmosphere and makes it a nice place to sit even all alone.

And dress shoes/boots to the shoelord machine.

Also, fezzes don't have sprites.
Neither do swimming fins.
