Don't believe it's related to any main server troubles, but due to Dyn's recent discontinuation of their free dynamic DNS service, I've had to update the alt server address.

I was having these exact same problems, I could connect to any other server but the main. After reinstalling BYOND, restarting my computer 3 times, restarting my router it has finally worked. I am not sure where the problems were for each end, but it is worth a shot to try again now.
