So, yeah, Fallout round start. I had a selection of medikits (including a tactical one), a circular saw, and the captain's laser gun. I decided to repair comms for the good of the wastelanders. I gathered all the parts from tech storage I thought I would need, then went to engineering to grab a power control board, where I saw Daniel fiddling with a PACMAN. He promptly shoots me in the side of the head with a taser while I was breaking the ID lock on the EngiVend.
I was kidnapped and enslaved by David, then rescued by Jack after a short firefight made too long by the
Legion's gravity drills space lag. With my cable restraints still on, he took me out the engineering window and towards the disposals area, only for me to slip and float off into the great blackness. From there, I floated to the asteroid, ripped the cables off, went to the mining station, used the newscaster as a call for help (Fun fact: Broken newscasters still beep), then grabbed a pick and broke some windows down, escaping into space.
I floated for a while until I hit the derelict. I did a quick search and grabbed the baton and EMP grenade. I jump out again and hit the abandoned satellite, where I repair the teleporter and teleport to escape. I resumed my "fix telecomms for the win" project until I finished it, then started walking around to see what I could find. I took an energy gun off a corpse in tech storage. I ran into a centurion at the brig, who demanded I leave. I complied and found a huge pile of stuff and two bodies in cargo maintenance, which I promptly dug through. David walked by again and started talking to me, which resulted in us both drawing guns on each other out of nowhere. He put his away and I stepped out of cover, tased him, and tied him up with his own cable.
I beat him a couple times with the police baton, then searched him for any loot when the NNR band showed up, who had apparently been looking for me on the asteroid after they heard my news feed message (The channel was called "STUCK ON THE MINING STATION - A.S."). After seeing he had no decent stuff to take, I threw him into the hallway where a couple people took punches at him. Alexa steps into the door and asks me if I want to join the NNR, which I deny, saying I want to keep to myself ("Is that too much to ask?" "In this world, yes."). She takes out a taser from... Somewhere, possibly the backpack, and I was expecting to get kidnapped again. But nothing happens, and a necromorph randomly jumps out of the darkness and attacks the group. After killing it, I accept the offer to join and we start searching.
We looted what was left of tech storage and I grabbed my locker full of parts. We went to R&D to grab some matter bins for an autolathe and found someone dying, who mentions the Legion. With all of this, and a Legion member suddenly announcing themselves over the radio, we head back to the mining shuttle and go back to mining, where the server proceeds to lag massively, boot everyone multiple times, and die. Next time, I'm siding with the "bad guys."
That round finalized my knowledge of how telecomms works, too. I am a fully-qualified CE!
Unless you count telecomms scripting...
