((It wasn't me who rebuilt the tavern. I was just the one who made a nuke and turned everyone into mutants. Why is everyone mad at me?  :o

"I will not allow any more threatening of the innocent. Stop. Now." The usually friendly Sir Lunnar growled through his armor.

If anyone else threatens the town in any way "encourage them to stop" through non-lethal means.

(I was wondering when I became a nuclear druid. Or a Druid.)

Try to look inconspicuous. Probably without much success.

The guard seems more amused than perturbed at your threats. Smiling, he speaks back:
'Adventurers than I take it? Won't be the first lot then. Though from the look of you all I may see you more than this once, make a nice change.'
With a laugh, he shouts down beyond the wall and the doors are pulled open by two well armed soldiers, revealing an arrow straight cobbled pathway directly into the town square. As you walk down it, you even sense there might be people living in the houses on either side, a sure change from the delapidation of Aela. The square itself was once a grandiose affair, but weeds now grow through the pavings, and the central fountain runs dry. Now it serves a far more practical purpose, as evident from the squadron of men sparring in the corner, who look up suspicously as you walk past.
The square is bordered by houses on the north and east (where you entered) sides, but to the west sprawls a single massive tavern, apparently open, called the Burrowers Relic; and to the south is a large noticeboard, which you read before moving on.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

'The council and guilds? They all upped and left at the first sign of trouble. General Haldon's the one in charge now, and rather him than those cowards anyday. You can find him in the converted stables round the back of the inn. We've patched them up as a bae of operatopns, not that there are many operations except for defence. As for the date, think it's sometime in March of C16. Or 1st April N1 - rule of the necromancer. After all, when the law's on the run who else is in charge.'

'You want to know what your stuff does? Been nicking it have you? Ah, none of my business is it though. Bit of looting isn't exactly unusual in these times. But anyway, the best guess you're gonna get in Haltar is the smith or his wife probably. Likes her books she does, almost as much as smith likes his ale. Bet she could tell yas if you've got summat particularly famous, and smith could tell ya bout any minor quirks. They'll be either in the inn or round the back wit' the general.'

'If you wanna know what he's got in, best ask him himself. And yeah, as I said, he's probably in either the inn or round the back. Dunno which.'

As you want to speak to the general also, you head around to the back of the inn, where you find a single, rather scrawny, individual. As you look at him in amazement, he squeaks to you 'The general is in the inn sir. Imporatant meeting.' On further pressure he reveals that both smith and his wife are in said meeting, and that they will likely be gone for around an hour.
Rothe heads back into the square as a belll rings, and turns to find the warriors too are retiring to the inn. When questioned as to where they were going, one yells back 'Ale and steel my friend. In equal measure,' and the guards share a laugh, before dissapearing inside.
