A few things:

Be sure to check the first three posts every now and again. They will often contain updated information that I may no exactly tell you in person. Just to be clear that'll be things such as flavor or little tidbits but nothing game-changing [usually, I may make a mistake]

It'll also contain an NPC and Location list for those of you who invite friends to assist you. OR if you die *cough*Ashur*cough* and may want to simply take over an NPC character rather than remake one [I do not reccomend this as part of the fun is making your own person and surviving.]

Lastly: Sleeping during the day time? Not gonna happen. It's just for me you see? It's harder to keep track of everything if I have to keep track of individual sleeping habits past "Sleep last night? No? Sleep Deprived." I ran something like this once, the night owls really mess it up for me. Maybe later but for now you're stuck sleeping at night.

"I'll look for food, can you look for something for the fire?"

Look round for anything edible. If the beast attack in the middle of the night, using create light.

"if that thing hates light then fire is our top priority"
"with all these rocks around i kinda wish i was a dwarf"
survey the area for anything burnable if there is then make a fire
if that fails try finding or breaking a rock to make a makeshift dagger?

Pastures?

Try to find something edible before it gets too late. Set up camp. Take at least a short rest.
