Works decently.  A big idea is to just make the loot arbitrarily expensive.  "It's a masterwork shortsword, but the ruby embedded in the pommel makes it worth about 500g."

Sometimes a really funny things to do against the players is to have very expencive objects that require special tools and holding cases to transport (Paintings for example) or that are extremely heavy such as a Stone statue.

Wait... I am a DM... so I shouldn't be telling my own players of the wicked ways I like to pass things over them.

Sure would be a shame if one of us brought a cart and were able to transport these things...

And if any place would have statues to loot, it WOULD be the dwarves with excess stone...

Honestly Treasure in dungeons and dragons tends to be in the "Easily carried" variety.

No vases, tables, chairs, curtains, Large Silver mirrors.

Could you imagine a Silk Couch in a dungeon? "Ok, you hold one end, I'll hold the other. Perhaps we can get through this doorway"

It sure would be a shame if one of us ate all of the statues.

Neonivek has very kindly allowed me to join. What is everyone playing, out of interest? I was considering being a sorcerer of some description, but I'm willing to play something else if needs be.

We've got a crafting-oriented wizard, an archer, and a magus, I think another doing something too...

Wizard, Magus, Oracle, Archer, and a Cad (Archer and Cad both being fighter archetypes).

Paul is correct.

So you should play....

whatever makes you happy.

Or a cleric.

Interesting group! I have never played Pathfinder, though I have dabbled with 3.5. I'm buying myself a copy of the rulebook later this week, but I'm also flicking through the wiki thing to figure a few bits out. So what are archetypes, exactly?

Or a cleric.

Isn't an Oracle rather similar to a cleric? Just wondering.

Anyway. I'll probably be either a summony sorcerer (summon monster I is highly amusing: celestial dolphins!?) or some sort of scummy rogue.

Oracle is to a cleric what a sorcerer is to a wizard
