I vaguely remember this game. I remember being annoyed at the GM when I left. Something about studying and not trying hard enough to find books in some folks' opinion, then getting murdered before I could make up for it.

So. Mind if I ask the status of the game and cult?

If you remember being murdered and leaving in annoyance at the GM because he went along with the players' actions, why are you still lurking around here after all that time? You haven't been part of this for eight months. Are you still so sore about that that you couldn't pass up an opportunity to try and make people feel bad and offer your sympathies when someone else gets killed in order to get someone to agree with you that the murder was unjustified?

Nothing can be achieved by staying here other than even more arguing and annoyance, and you're making yourself look like an idiot by saying things like "I vaguely remember this game" yet still having the interest to post here and show you still resent CG's actions more than half a year after leaving. Grow some pride and let it go, man. Leave with your head high and don't come back, instead of staying in a corner waiting for opportunities to be passive aggressive.

...I was actually considering rejoining this game, under the "forgive and forget" principle.

The fact that you offer to "forgive and forget" means you still wouldn't fit in. You were murdered because you refused not to put yourself ahead of the group and no reprisal whatsoever was done against the killer because everyone agreed it was for the better. Though I am certain from your side it looks like your were killed without justification and you are the one who should be doing the forgiving, from our side you were actively a thorn in the cabal's side, you left in a storm of arguments because you were too angry to leave without first trying to convince everyone you were a martyr, and your first action upon coming back was to be passive aggressive, mentioning the GM annoyed you and you were murdered without cause.

On top of all that, the waitlist is four people long, your last attempt at reentry was refused, and the GM is still there and hasn't changed, meaning he'd probably still annoy you. I don't think it would be for the best to rejoin, GWG.

I admit I did some stuff wrong. I was also not given any kind of chance to fix my mistakes before being killed.

But you know what? I try not to hold this silly kind of stuff against people. I am willing to join the games of people who have called me sociopaths. I can forgive anything that was done if they do, start with a clean slate on all sides. I'm a bit annoyed that you are basically going "You were a jerk and so you'll always be a jerk, so you shouldn't join".

And what are you going to do if people don't think you're entitled to be forgiven for anything? Because something tells me that's how it risks going down.

That depends on what they intend to do. If they intend to kill my character as soon as he enters, we have a problem. If they're content to wait and see what I do, great.

Well, no one has been killed for OOC actions so far and nothing indicates someone is going to be anytime soon. If that's your only worry, you should be just fine.

There is a middle ground, with intermediate worries. As long as we can all agree to play nice, though, it shouldn't be too severe.

Assuming that the game is, you know, running. I don't think I've seen the IC thread in a while?

If you want to re-join, just heads up that we have quite few people in the waiting list and that we have to have HQ IC before we can have more people. Just be aware that there's quite some time before you might join.

Most of the kills have been IC reasons for doing so. Really, murderous backstabbing kinda suits the themes of this game.

We are necromancers aiming to conquer the world. A lack of murder to advance one's station wouldn't suit. I imagine we are going to wrack up a lot of player kills thanks to murderous plots by the other players. A Game of Dark Magi, if you will.

Hopefully it won't stop running any time soon. It's a pretty fun forum game concept and well put together.

Besides I love role playing crazy people.

As an outside observerer prior to joining i actually took GWG's side,
yes he was hogging the library but this game only updates once a week. In my opinion it is better in these situations to have one person constantly hit the books until they level up and then let someone else in. This way the cabal on the whole gets a stronger mage every month or two rather than having a round robin or free for all study roster which takes almost a year to spit out its first levelup.
So yeah, im on the GWG deserves an apology boat.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

Ah, but GWG didn't ask to have all the library to himself. He was not chosen, no decision was taken - he just took some books he needed and hid them! That way, not only did he have to learn at a penalty because he didn't have access to everything, but so did everyone, since he had taken the most crucial books for research. Afterwards, despite widespread criticism from everyone, he didn't return them, keeping them to himself instead and using them to increase his own power at the detriment of the whole group. He was given seven turns to return the books, which he failed to do (even when he did find them after having lost them and while he knew he was in deep trouble, he kept studying!) and then he didn't understand why people got sick of him and put an end to it. From our side, it doesn't look like CG was in the wrong when he did the deed.
