We do need an actual clown invasion of some kind.  Real clowns.  Or zombie clowns.

I don't understand why HFS wasn't good enough.

I don't particularly see a need for another euphemism to cause more confusion here. Personally the only one that I see a use for is "clowns", simply because "HFS" is a little ambiguous about whether it refers to the clowns themselves, the act of unleashing the wave of them, or the place they live in. Adamantine itself doesn't need a spoiler, since it shows up in several menus.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

I don't understand why HFS wasn't good enough.

I still don't know what HFS is exactly

We do need an actual clown invasion of some kind.  Real clowns.  Or zombie clowns.

That would be fun. To where clown cars, hundreds of clowns pour out
I would think of the clown invasion as: Equal to demons in terms of sheer number you fight at once, yet much easier to kill. Clowns would probably do little to no damage to anyone in combat.

If it hadn't been for me finding DF by TVTropes, and reading spoilers, I would have had to find out WHAT adamantine is by myself. I see it in a menu, and don't remember 'oh yeah, its deep down there cotton candy'

I usually abbreviate Forgotten Beast to FB. Which then makes me think of FaceBook. Could we get an euphemism out of that do you think?

Took me a day to figure out it meant Forgotten Beast, whenever I saw FB, it took me a bit, when I first joined here.
I guess part of me wants a silly euphemism, or something to misguide the newbies. Not heavily, I mean, they'll know it isn't a good thing to find one, or usually isn't

And thus, "The running of the goblins" became an annual tradition and the first dwarven contraceptive.

Hidden Fun Stuff I believe.

I like the euphemisms for clowns and funatanium, just because it is usually more entertaining than using the real names under certain circumstances. Something about taking the children out to see the clowns from the funatanium seems more poetic.

I'm sorry, but every time I call in the clowns, I laugh hysterically at the mental image of the deadly gas/liquid/powder being sprayed coming out of a daisy lapel, followed by a bicycle horn honking.
Helloooooooo head-canon.

How about "plumbers"? They're like Mario or something, hanging out underground and stomping the crap out of everything that lives there. *Cue Mario underground theme*

I like the 'lost pets' since I usually lure them in their carefully designed new homes rather than kill them brutally.
But standard 'FB' beats it being more laconic.

Bards, since they travel a lot, perform magical tricks (like disappearing in a smoke cloud) and they look quite unusual :]

Bears on unicycles. Mimes. Hobos.

I think I'll stick with "hobos".
