Accepting requests to make pictures that are illustrating active community fort DF stories, all free.

I like to draw but I have had a problem with knowing what to draw lately, I love dwarf fortress stories so I would like to make pictures from active forts that have memorable happenings, but I am studying to become a computer engineer so I don't have the time to get up to date on a active fort.
So If anyone want something illustrated then give a short summary about what you want illustrated and a  link to the community fort thread, if there is more requests than I can do then I will draw the ones I think I can draw the best.

here is a link to my gallery so you know my skill level:

Random picture I have made with Dwarf Fortress as inspiration:

(Ps: I have also posted in the creative section but was told I should cross post (I hope I don't get banned for double post))

Saltbuckle is just getting started but might be an inspiration.  The basic idea is: dwarves gazing out at the sea, trying to imagine how to conquer the great beasts therein.  Our starting crew includes two "harpooners" with copper spears and copper armor, as well as a motley crew of assorted dwarves unloading their wagon on the white sand beach.

Hey mate and welcome to b12. :D
I got to say that you're incredibly good with colours and perspectives and such. I also really admire people who are willing to put down so much time on their drawings, I'm quite lazy so I always aim for 20-40 min. :P
But I gotta say you might wanna work some more on anatomy and like the general shape of people and creatures, I know it can be kinda hard to take critique some times. (I have never drawn much except for here at b12 so it might not be worth much coming from me :P)

How the fck did you even make this :o

It's probably worth mentioning that AnimaRytak is the only ecstatic dwarf in the entire fort.
Quick, check him for rum! The bastard's probably spirited some off to his lair office, to act as pleasant refreshment as his evil scheme unfolds!

Thank you! Thanks for the critique, I already know my anatomy knowlege suck, I really should be getting around to making it better! I am way to lazy at times. But one day, one day!

And I did not draw that fractal, I made it, but it is a fractal. I made it with a program called mandelbulb.

Hi, My characters suck but here is a image :) hope you like it. It took me a little over one hour to make it.

(It is supposed to be a image of a dwarf pointing at a whale. (Or the dwarf is pointing at the moon snail i dunna))

I like how you combine your colours, it's all bright and shiny. Your gallery has some interesting stuff in it too.
Here, have some compliments ;)

Maybe we could export Yuli: "Succession fortress too stable? Too boring? Just get our Yuli VlasiTM!"

Great work, I love the colors.  Makes it look like the start of a legend.  I hope you don't mind if I work this into the Saltbuckle game thread!

Thank you very much!  :)

It would be great if you did that!
The reason I asked for stories from active community forts, is so the pictures could help illustrate the story in those community forts while they are alive.

So any pictures I make for a community fort is for use for the community fort story. (Ps I also put the picture on my deviant art profile so I have all my pictures at one place)

The Saltbuckle embark is really nice!  I would very much like any art you would be inspired to do from my Orcish community fort, whether it's a landscape of orcish war banners hanging from our rough timber pallisade, maybe fortifications straddling the stream with mountains rising in the background, and the outline of some longboats docked at the water's edge.

Or anything else from the thread so far that strikes your interest :)  We just had our first combat, although I know asking for a battle scene might be a bit much!

Any orcs that appear are wearing traditional leather armor, with the elite warriors having a few scraps of mail too and shell or bone decorated wolf-masks.  You can see more details there but mostly fighting with tribal weapons like macuahuitl swords and claws, or composite bows.  The corsairs might have a mechanical dart-gun or a crude pistol, and a bandanna to show their rank in the gunnery squad.

Urist McBadass death in Moltenchannels would well deserve to be the first fanart of the fort.

She arrived to the fortress with +500 kills, went out the arching bridge of the castle fortress (it's a low 1z wall with four 3z round towers in the corners), across the bridge over the magma moat, fenced off a goblin siege, only to find necromancers arrived right after the goblins. The other dwarves tried to rescue her, but they had to retreat and she was killed by a zombie.

I wonder, what would they do if someone killed their king.
Inevitable, who cares. Now an onion...
