Zombie Survival OOC
« on: February 17, 2013, 06:19:49 pm »

Is anyone interested in directing a group of people at the brink of a zombie out break?
The game play will be by most agreed upon actions controlling the group, though you may name characters and control others in the main group but it will not be a character progression type game. For reference check out how the Firestar spaceship game was played.

Please vote for the below stuff and then with interest I'll write up the actual thread!

Zombie
1. a) Slow Horde
    b) Running Infected

Settings
2. a) Large City (Pop >500 000)
    b) Small City (Pop ~ 100 000)
    c) Town (Pop ~20000)

Starting Group
3. a) Small (5-10)
    b) Medium (~30)
    c) Large (~75) (not everyone will make it)

Spoiler: Alternative games (click to show/hide)

I could give more suggestions if you would outline the type of game you're wanting to run.

Well either medieval/space/robotics/zombie survival setting works.
Mostly just run a suggestion game based around a group of characters.

Been a day. Bump
If no one wants a certain type of game run, I'll check back another time, the board seems to be moving quickly anyways.

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

1: B, because slow zombies are only dangerous in hordes, in which case they're undefeatable by normal methods. Fast zombies allow a nice range of Defeatability vs. Danger, IMHO.
2: D, rural. Because why not. (If not that, C because I like the proximity to D.)
3: A, small groups tend to stick together better and with less logistical or political problems.

Also, maybe have slighty smarter zombies that are able direct the horde and use basic tactics.

A - Slow zombies give more dread. Fast zombies are also vulnerable to head shots. Also no special infected as that's dumb... Death is not a super power guys.
B - I feel like this is the most atmospheric of choices.
A - More peopel means more supplies and less characterization. I'd rather have a few survivors who I can grow attached to than an army who's going to just whittle down and use up supplies and cause conflict.

The point of fast zombies is that you can't evade them by walking away. A single fast zombie is a threat; a single slow zombie is not. A mob of zombies is a big threat that you probably can't kill, regardless of type.

Plus rotting one. (That's a good thing.)
