Hmm. We could make use of the shop's ability to teleport to do so, but trouble is getting them not to just burn the shop down once they're in it.

I do still have all those magical creature parts I could use to make something...

Right, I think that if there's still time to act in between this post and the next one I have a way to depower the despair gods. Now just to account for the others.

By the way, guys, elaborating on your character's plans in your next post will make the final post a lot easier. If your plan is basically "cross that bridge when I come to it", that's fine, but if you have an idea include it in the post. ;D

Jesus christ of course this happens when I'm off in fuckoffistan.

:(

Well, seems we're not all dead quite yet, and the close hasn't happened.

if this is just normal delays, which I doubt given the time...

I can probably deal with the plague. my Self is too concrete for Jules, though, so someone else has to do... that.

Illumina's thought process is rather stupidly simple, so I can't just run.

It's a threat.

We kill it.

For me it is a delay - I'm currently 14k words deep into an update for something else I've been working on for months now. I'm almost sorta done with it. When I am, I'm devoting my full attention to this.

Right, now that I'm done the thing that delayed me actually posting here, I'll get to work on what may be Merlin's final post in this game. I swore I'd finish it, and by golly I'll do that!

Everyone forgot. Including me. Put up a post anyway, delay like this is kinda par for the course and... yeah.

Welp, Illumina had a good run but honestly this was the only thing she could have done. Much as she's kinda as inhuman as you can get, she's still too human to just lie down and accept any of this, or to just abandon everything she'd seen here.

Maybe we'll see what happen at some point.

Maybe

I respect you immensely for that.

I should conclude my part in this as well.

Stories deserve to be completed.

What, possibly killing myself in order to increase everyone else's odds of survival or finally posting?

To be honest... I have no idea if there was something better I could have done. But this just seemed... fitting. The only way to make a force that can take them on is to make use of the antithesis of their being: They are Law. So use Chaos. The drive toward freedom, the human desire to never be yoked.

I think in Illumina's mind, if it took her death to forge a strong enough wind of rebellion to push back against them, then so be it.

also yes I HAVE been playing Persona 5 recently thank you.

<.< I don't know why a quote from that game FINALLY gave me an idea of something to post, but whatever.

Finally posting. It reminded me that I have a promise yet to keep.

Eyy, what the hell, I'm doing this too. The game needs a proper send-off. I don't expect any kind of final update (is Fniff even around anymore?); in fact, in a way I don't necessarily want one. This is a fitting ending to this part of Jack's story, whether she triumphs or not.

My memory of all that happened and everyone in the game aren't perfectly clear, but eh - the spirit of things is honored, even if facts get stepped on. I kinda assumed Illumina's thing happens afterwards/on a psychic level, not literally spoken and done there at the meeting, but I'm sure it works however it goes down.

The choice is offered when one of the bugs makes contact. At that point, she can either reject it and be done, or pool her pwer with any/everyone else who accepts, exchanging the singularity of her power for an increase in their forces' power overall.
