A bit slow/late/chaotic, but I'll be posting today or tomorrow.

I'm quickly reading up and getting into the story again. The following completely cracked me up:
"The difference between Merlin's spells and the spell cast on Johnny was like the difference between a classical symphony and a genius electronica album."

Great to see you, man! Also, I'm proud of that line.
Out of curiosity, what do you guys think your character's musical tastes would be? I can see Jacqueline being into New Orleans style big band music, for some reason.

Yeah, that sounds very much right. I'm not totally sure what Magnus listens to (however, I do like the mental image of earphones being part of his faux-20s costume, because damned if he'll let a little gunfight get in way of music).

We'll know the bad guys from the fact they listen to... no music at all. Gasp.

Why did I immediately think Magnus actually listens to gangsta rap through those headphones?
Damn you, Elmore Leonard. Also, rest in peace at the same time, please.

How so?
Oh, between Karol and Illumina and the rest? I think you gotta play that out yourself. Our control over the NPCs of this game is a curious wavering thing.

I do too, I'm just an irresponsible fuck with no control over his life :P

Merlin's musical taste? Hmm. I'd say he likes anything that has an interesting beat, melody, etc, or is interesting at the time. He kinda flits from song to song.
Matthew I always pictured as liking some really wierd punk rock bands for some reason, and also I suppose stuff like Primus.

Our control over the NPCs of this game is a curious wavering thing.
NPCs are like this little corner between my local church and the rest of the town. The council puts up streetlamps by their side of the corner, and the church puts up streetlamps by their side of the corner, but no-one is sure who exactly owns the corner and putting up streetlamps there would be a sign of disrespect. Thus no-one sees the corner while driving at night and people keep getting into car accidents there.

Well, I'm pretty sure no-one will ever top this particular comparison. Thank you, Fniff.

Nice comparison.

Music
Ambience

I listen to (things like) this while writing for Red. I imagine his musical tastes are much the same.
Alrighties. I've got an idea of what I'm going to write now. Time to beat the hell out of my writer's block. Wish me luck..! :P

Awesome, Caesar.
Also, just noted something. We're on page 108 now. Not really that significant, but it is a fairly notable number in Buddhism, comparable to the number 7 in our culture.

Tell me more about that. Why is 108 a notable number in Buddhism?

Also- writing is going well. I think that I'll really finish today (although I also have to do an interview for an article). Finishing on the date I planned to complete something.. That's new!
