I put 'actually available' for a reason. It might've changed since the last time I looked (I haven't looked in awhile), but back then Goon only released their code every so often, and those were few and far between.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Oh. Derp. I didn't look into the actual availability of the codes. Still, /tg/code, I choose you!

I would be interested in this, definatly. I think the server should be private, but maybe not "Super secret" private. Like posting the password in the OP or something. So we have only people from Bay12, ideally.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I expect trying too hard to only have people from bay12 is likely to invite griff. Anything more secret than having the password in the OP is something I can't agree with, as I believe it's more likely to cause problems than prevent them. Consider, for instance, how rare it is for anyone to actually raid /tg/station (Well, I'm pretty sure it's rare, as I've never seen it happen or at least it's never been effectual any time I've played since the server's founding). Baystation 12 however was definitely raided explicitly to cause griff.
The server would do much better to just offer a unique and high quality style of play with quality yet not excessively strict rp, welcoming anyone who wants to positively contribute to the experience rather than starting with an "us versus them" mentality.

Haven't played in a while, but I'm watching this thread with interest.

I'll also third Devling's and Rakonas' suggestion to post the server password in the OP, and would also suggest you have some basic rules there.  That way, you can expect that anyone who's on the server is at least somewhat familiar with Bay12, and has read over the basic rules.

If you're going to put the password in the OP, why have a password? That isn't going to guarantee they read anything when the OP has nothing in it as it is currently.

I also agree. Looking for a new server to play. Goon is fun, but there isn't too much RP. However, I did have a great round as a detective.

So there I was roaming the halls of the station, taking a shortcut through maintenance tunnels, when I see two people through my IR visor. One is standing and the other is next to him on the ground. I get close enough to get a good look, and stayed back in the shadows while I watched the one man beat another unconscious. I took a picture of both of them, capturing the crowbar in the Perp's hand, and called it in. Security was slow to react, but I tailed the Perpetrator until he entered the confessional at the chapel. I called security in once more and they hastily took him into custody. When we were at the brig I placed my evidence on the table and the Perp was locked up.

Then, while exploring some more, I saw another person unconscious in a room below the confessional. I went into the right room and began checking the walls when an unsub attacked me with wire cutters. In what was possibly the quickest action I ever made, I drew my revolver and fired three rounds into him. He dropped, because apparently since I last played the Detective's revolver got tweaked to actually be effective. I called security and a medic but the man died before they could take care for him. I began drinking after taking the man's life, began neglecting my duties, and eventually escaped alive.

Ninja Edit: OP should probably include the links provided a few posts back, as well as a summary written by the OP or someone else, should they want to.

/tg/ is generally more RPish than goon. But they certainly like their events.

Toady said we can start another thread. The 2nd one was removed due to.. I don't know. Just keep it civil.

If I remember correctly, he said a new one could be started if there were plans and rules in place to prevent flame wars, which uh... This does not really have. Go ahead and lay down the law OP, if you think you can.

At any rate, I am interested in playing this. I sometimes play on some of my old servers, but it just feels awkward nowadays going back to old places and seeing old people doing new things. Perhaps a new server would be fun. Although I heavily heavily doubt that it will do well. It takes a bit more then just deciding to start a server then to make a good server. But sure. Ready to try.

All this talk of exclusivity and making sure we keep undesirables out of our Bay12 SS13 games is reminding me of something...

Oh, yeah, the circlejerk that isolated Baystation 12 from this website and got the thread locked two times! :D

I personally believe it got worse after changi--

Oh Good God, what am I doing? I'm opening a can full of infinite goliath spiders! The point is that we should keep it private cos this is a Bay12er thing. It's like making a private server on an FPS for your friends, it's less elitism and more a need for privacy.

Id rather have a server that would beat all the others in keeping true to the nature of SS13.
