As someone who medically needed to be circumcised, I feel the need to correct you here. Sometimes it is necessary due to several common... malfunctions of development. Get over it.

So your circumcision was with need, and I'm against needless one? I dont see the conflict.

I think any kind of genital mutilation is ok if the person having their genitals mutilated agrees with it. It's their body, they should decide what they do with it. What I sincerely disagree with though is people deciding for their sons or daughters to have their genitals mutilated without their consent, as happens every single time a Jewish baby is circumcised.

Well, if you're a poor farmer, regular condom supplies could be hard to get. Plus, boys will be boys, and I'd rather take all the steps I can.

My point is mostly that since FGM tends to be gorer and doesn't have such benefits, it's normal to attack it way more than circumcision.

Sheb, the disease reduction from circumcision is marginal at best and has been questioned as nonexistent.

More importantly, it is kind of an extreme step. Since FGM doesn't have any potential benefits, would you give your infant daughters mastectomies to keep them from ever getting breast cancer? They don't have any strict need for them, after all, and you don't want them to join the millions of people who do have it.

At the end of the day, cutting bits off of infants to keep them from getting diseases associated with those bits is not an ethical strategy, regardless of its effectiveness.
