I got yelled at over this one too- it is confusing.  The format is ([Amount adding] to [Total time AFTER adding]/[Time the task takes]), with an asterisk if you're finishing it.

I cant understand my inability to wrap my head around this one :x sorry about kicking up dust about it.

Yeah, my first thought was to do it your way.

Is there a good way to compress repeated actions?
I have been just throwing all my time units into a single action entry. So that instead of:
(1 to 7/7*)Grow food
(7 to 7/7*)Grow food
(2 to 2/7)Grow food
I have:
(10 to 16/7**)Grow food
This takes up less space, and means less typing, and should have all the information, but could be confusing if you have a lot of folk all using different formats or just have a lot of entries to go over...
Should I stop doing it this way?
Does someone have a great way of handling this that I should adopt?
Maybe it would be better if I did (10 to 2/7**) Grow food? But the double asterisks are not necessarily sufficiently overt to carry that format...

In your specific example, I'm pretty sure you need to specify which field you're after.  I think doing something more than once is uncommon enough that it should be spelled out.

But hey, I'm not the mod.

Think of it like this.

A (brings the value) to B / (out of a needed) C

Ram, I'd much prefer if at the very least the partial, final action get's it's own line, a lot easier to parse. Keeping it to it's own line isn't super important for the things you guys track, though I agree that it should always be spelled out for Grow Food, so you can signify which field you are using and whether it's irrigated or not.

I'd be happy to research tools if provided with the resources.

it will cost you 11 time and i can have the supplies delivered the turn after next barring bad draws, it will be best if you delay the research until i have completed researching wampoon extraction or until someone else volunteers to supply the wampoon's as you cannot finish the research without them.
Sounds good. i'll give you the tool produced when i'm finished as payment.

GWG, how did you spend 5 on researching crop rotation when you only have 7 9 and spent it growing food? (I assume you screwed up the formatting)
Didn't we get bonus time this round from the one event?

I have 10+2 units of time and spent 7+5. Unless I'm missing something, 10+2=12=7+5.

You have 10-3+2=9 points, not 12.
