This one was a pain in the butt to put together. Not only did I have to do a little grey shadow using another text layer, I also had to duplicate both of them and manually reposition because the text spacing was 1px off between lines compared to how it is in-game. Annoying as heck. I think I may be able to fix it more easily next time, though.

no I mean the randomizer it wont save the random stuff even after I hit the save button my stuff still normal maybe I should just use a normal game and not a rom hack..

Kent storms off in a huff. I hang around a moment and speak to the other Aides, but they have nothing interesting to say.



WOOHOO! The first steps into my journey! I wonder what-

At least Turing levels up after easily defeating one. His ability, Water Absorb, makes it pretty easy.



There's also a rare Squirtle here and there.



After jaunting through Route 1, I make it to Viridian City. Quaint place, but at least it's more active than Pallet Town.



It looks like the way to Pewter is blocked, though.



I heal up Turing in the Pokemon center before exploring more. That last Squirtle fight had him pretty beat, and I'd rather not faint my only Pokemon. Oh well, at least I'd only lose half my money if that happened! Isn't it awesome Pokemon aren't able to, you know, DIE like Humans are?



The gym's closed, so I check out the Mart. The guy in there hands me some kind of parcel and says to give it to Oak. Back I go, I guess.



Back, back, back...



Oak looks a bit surprised to see me back so soon, but it seems to jog his memory. He says he has something for me.



Kent barges in just as Oak's about to grab his gift for me.

: "Oh, hey! Is this that present you mentioned in my dream?"

: "What dream?"

: "...Never mind."

Oak hands each of us a National Dex. Sweet. We can use these to keep track of the Pokemon we meet. Kent mentions something about a town map and then vows, once again, to smell us later.



I say goodbye to Leaf since it might be a while before I see her again. She's talking like some kind of crazy person.



It looks like Oak also gave me some Pokeballs.



...Okay, let's try this again! Man, I'm so excited. I'm gonna catch all the Pokemon in the entire world. I wonder how many there are? Probably hundreds.



I can't move for some reason. I look down at my leg, commanding it to move, but it creeps ahead at a glacially slow pace. Time itself slows as a green light bathes my surroundings.



A voice booms down from the sky. I can't move my head to see who it is.



What? Is it talking to me?






I can't... feel... anything...



...The world returns to its normal hue. I can move again.

: "Okay, that was just weird."



Well, whatever. I step into the grass and encounter a wild Squirtle. Turing's a bit weakened from earlier battles.



A quick potion fixes that right up.



After a few rounds, the Squirtle is heavily weakened. You know what time it is?



Time to get a new Pokemon.



AWWWRIGHT!



I think I'll call him Plato. Gotta love those ancient philosophers/scientists.



My Pokemon are looking a little frail. I head back to Mom's place, and she lets me rest up.



Back at Viridian, the roadblock seems to be awake. He shambles away and lets me through. However, I'm more interested in that side route over there...



Is that a patch of grass I spy?



The first thing that pops up is a Sunflora. Awesome. Something that's not a Water-type.



However, even after several rounds of battle, it's evaded my capture entirely. Its Absorb is super-effective against me but, luckily, doesn't deal as much damage as I would have thought.



...Uh oh. If I don't get it this turn, it's gone. But I can always just catch another, right?



YES!



Ah, Mendel. Famous botanist, among other things.



Hmm. I should probably spray a Potion to keep it from fainting. I don't want it to hate me or anything.;



Luckily, one potion gives me enough time to get to the Pokemon center and heal up.

Now's probably a good time to examine my party in depth. In future updates, I'll be putting this segment in a separate spoiler called "Party Review."



Mendel's not hugely versatile, but even at Level 5 he outclasses the SP.ATK ability of the rest of my party.



Plato's not exactly up to par, but then again, he's only Level 2. His Natural Cure will prove useful against status effect based teams.



Turing learned Supersonic at level 2. Very useful as a foe can be both poisoned and confused at the same time.

Question from a pokemon n00b, playing Black randomised and Nuzlocke.

Is it worthwhile spending grind time training up a Lucario?

I have three steels at present :-
      a Scizor that is my capture expert;
      an Aron that is all brute force;
      and the Lucario, who is kinda not specialised, at all, although the Force Palm is surprisingly effective at times.

If you're willing to level it up to the point that it learns aura sphere...

(Please note that I don't meta game much so don't put that much faith in my words)

   He's only level 15 at present, and the way the 'mons have been going so far in my run, I doubt it will reach level 51 to get aura sphere - it has been resilient, thus far, but I'm bound to screw up and lose him at some point.  Most have died to the trainers, not the wild 'mons, I'm not holding out much hope for the Petilil that has just joined the party, she's been doing very little but wear the Exp. Share item and rapidly level up while sitting at the back of the party.

The randomiser must have been prescient as it gave me an Absol as my starter, didn't even bother with the other two.  Still struggling along with me, although she has the lowest level of the group - I tend to be a little over-protective.  A wild Terrakion in the Dream Yard wiped out four of my team in one battle, leaving me with two severely wounded 'mons, I thought I was doing so well.

     I tried running away, but the damned thing stopped me each time.  The aron stayed alive long enough to keep throwing mud-slap at it until it couldn't hit a baseball with the side of a barn.  Absol then leered and quick attacked it until it died.  It was comical at the end, also tragic.

     Be at peace.

     Coincidentally, I captured the aron in the dream yard a little bit earlier and was grinding it up a few levels before assaulting the gym.  That monkey-thing, (Pansage), they forced you to take was one I did not consider as being one of the team - it wasn't defeated in glorious battle.

Freeformschooler, that purple is eye-burningly hard to read, dark purple on dark grey.

Might I suggest a brighter one, such as EF00EF?

EDIT: Petilil actually did very well on my White run. Sleep powder works well, since she's pretty fast, and then you can put up a substitute or just quiver dance a bit until you can spam no-repercussions Petal Dance. (Unless the foe has Sap Sipper.)

Really?  My Petilil is really slow and almost always the last to act.  Must check her stats and see if I got a dodgy one.  Job for tomorrow, though.
