I know these exist. They still are overrun and generally not safe to be in. Of course that is because some homeless people are desperate enough to be assholes (or just are assholes). Still, we have the resources to prevent all of that and instead of doing that it's spent on other, less crucial stuff, like subsidizing the destruction of food or partaking in wars where we can't do much good either way.

Those are oversimplifications, and you know that.

I hate this sort of leftist bickering: All it does is make one feel superior, because one knows better. It prevents proper discussion, proper nomenclature, and generally taking any proper action. It's opium for the masses of salon socialists.

IMO Greek economy should be allowed to collapse completely, but Greece should stay in EU. That way all the Greeks that want to work will go to baustellen in Germany, and when they reach the retirement age they'll go back to Greece and spend their pensions there, reinvigorating the economy. Those are not single cases. There are dozens of people casually dying every winter in Britain because they can't affort to heat their own houses, because theree's no central heating system in Britain. There are hundreds of people dying every winter in capital city of India only, because they're homeless.
