Baku is not in Russia yet, and Azerbaijan isn't particularly friendly to Russia if I'm not mistaken.

I see Ukraine in the Cycling Road group, surprised that they're competing despite the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Theres some sports that Russia got beat out at (or didn't participate in anyway), but yeah, that's a huge number of medals. Can't explain it myself and not going to anyways.

I've never really gotten why there's is People smuggling in Calais, France can't be that bad to live in.
Sure it's France but religious minority's are protected under law, LGBT rights are some of the most advanced in Europe.
The constitution assures equality regardless of race or religion.

In short i don't see why they risk there lives to come to England from France.

They're not; they're risking their lives to come to England from Iraq, Eastern Europe, or the like, and they just happen to be going through France on the way. 

Mind you, I didn't even think Eastern Europe was that bad, but I expect that by "Eastern Europe" they mean more Ukraine or Belarus than Poland or Czech Republic.

They do it in the Olympics, so why not regionally? And yes I'm aware of the tensions between Israel and the arab states.

Yeah, I doubt that would work well. Still, doesn't make sense to include them in Europe just because they're not welcome in their own neighborhood.
