I'd put this in the WTF thread, but it probably fits here.

Damn. If I understand what that implies correctly, it will be the end of indie game dev forums in the EU.
Imagine that law being passed in the US; Toady One would have to either shut down the forum, or hire an army of moderators and lawyers

Not even remotely? The ruling was about whether an estonian law was incompatible with EU law, not really anything else. They came down saying that publishers of unlawful content can't claim article 10 (freedom of expression), but that's... about it. It has no legal standing, there wasn't any laws passed, and other than maybe being used for justifications later on, it has no influence on anything at the moment.

It's worth noting that particular ars technica article is basically complete shit.

Besides that I guess the meeting was the usual, Russian media reported about the discussions on powerplant projects(that the president cannot even decide about) while Finnish media reported about Niinistö's speech on achieving peace in Ukraine and the direction of the developement the security situation in Europe and about Putin's standard single sentence reply to that.

He certainly looks surprised that the Finnish president did his speech in Russian, and then felt flattered I guess?

Also, we hardly ever see him smile.

Yeah, that looks a bit more like a "wow this guy has an atrocious accent" smirk than a "oh cool!" smile. Props to Niinistö for making his speech in Russian, though.

I guess kinda... Except Russian media apparently didn't seem to notice it and Niinistö is hardly sympathetic towards Russia.
