Apparently the Tories are set to lose their token Scottish MP. Not sure yet how many Labour is going to lose before the night is out.

You mean hibernia and pictland-scotiland?

Well it's quite interesting. Back when King Robert the Bruce was trying to open a second front in Ireland he wrote propaganda to native Irish Kings claiming that we were one nation - Ireland being Scotia Major, historic homeland of the Gaelic language, and Scotland as Scotia Minor.

Apparently the Tories are set to lose their token Scottish MP. Not sure yet how many Labour is going to lose before the night is out.

The Tories could lose Dumfries but gain Berwick. Who knows.

Does anyone have estimates for national vote share as opposed to seats won?  I'm curious if Tories are outperforming or Labour underperforming while SNP overperforms.

Not sure as to the validity of the latter statement, my education has been more to do with what the innards of crabs do than parliamentary convention and legal interpretation.

Maryland and Scotland have more in common then I ever imagined!

Bit early for those kind of numbers I think.

What is going on with the general movements to the Tories in England? Do people not remember the past 5 years?

It could be a result of the anti-SNP propaganda, could be the general distaste for Miliband, could be a mass resurgence of Ergot infection, the anti-EU propaganda, the anti-poor propaganda, Sith influence or England has been conquered by the elderly and paranoid.

The word of the day seems to be "fear". People have been successfully made scared of so much that they'll vote Conservative to feel safe.

Current results (as I have them):

Conservatives -- 4
Labour -- 11
SNP -- 1 (Kilmarnock Loudoun)
LibDems -- 1 (Ceridigion)
DUP (Ulster Unionists) -- 3
SDLP -- 1
Sinn Fein -- 1
Other -- 1

UKIP has yet to win a seat. And Labour has won Tooting, the most embarrasingly named constituency in Britain. How would you like to be introduced as "the Member for Tooting"?

EDIT: Also worth noting that Labour currently has the non-England portions of Britain to thank for almost all their seats so far (6 from Scotland, 3 from Wales).

Maybe 'Tooting' is pronounced in a french accent or was pronounced differently than it is now when it was established (That consistuency has gotta be centuries old, right?).

Labour has no seats from Scotland yet though?

EDIT: Scotland has some above-average voter turnout too, good. At least there's somewhere democracy isn't in a shambles. It's something positive against the prospect of Tories forming a majority I suppose.

Labour's current seats are mostly from NE England, not Scotland.

Formed 1974, according to the great and all-powerful Wiki.

Oops...my bad, that f***ing hex map throws me off. Northumbria is sort of where I expect Scotland to be. (yeah, that's the ticket....) >_>

EDIT: More seats called, and SNP has 6 now, all in Scotland (and no other party has taken a Scottish seat yet). Labour is up to 14, and the Tories still holding at 4. Plaid Cymru wins Arfon.

With regard to Tooting, I just noticed that the UKIP candidate this go-around was one Przemek Skwirczyński. Isn't this the anti-immigrant party?  ???

The SNP just won my home town, unseating Scottish Labour's chief election strategist. She won on a 27% swing. I literally nearly shed the manliest tears. I may yet.
