Dont fool yourself. The US engages in tit-for-tat cyber twattery with China all the time.
I am mildly disturbed by the level of genitals involved in geopolitics.
The psychoanalysts were right about the libidinal basis of politics. (It's all about pee-pees, poo-poos, and wee-wees.)

Where the fuck did China even come from? This is a European matter, not Chinese. Besides, attacking China is in a list of "do not do this"

Because a majority of Putin supporters will claim 'We don't need the world's friendship or trade, we have china!' and not realize china is just grooming Russian leadership to think they're working for Russian interests when they're doing China's work.

China is a very smart geopolitical player. Allow Russia to focus on the west and create their own boogeymen, so they don't see what's happening on their doorstep.

I enjoy it, thoroughly.

It's a rare quality to know when to shut up and say nothing as good fortune strikes.

It's not the same as fighting though, and it's silly to compare it. You might as well say two countries that spy on each other are fighting.

I liked a line I read recently. It went something like "Nuclear warfare had costs so high, we couldn't afford to use it. Cyber warfare may have costs so low we can't afford to not use it." It's almost an extension of espionage rather than "warfare".

I would agree with everything but the word "almost".

Countries have committed industrial espionage on their closest allies for a long time.

I think the current hypothesis is the Yellow River agricultural revolution, when Neolithic humans first domesticated things like rice and such.

Ah, where to start.

About reaction of Russian ambassador to Denmark, Michail Vanin: this kind of reaction just confirms why it is wise to enter and stay in military aliance pact to protect yourself from dangerous bully. There is pretty good reason why many former Soviet satellite states flocked to NATO. Georgia and Ukraine are good example what happens to non-NATO neighbours of Russia.

Current debacle may encourage certain non-NATO countries like Finland or Sweden to consider becoming NATO members. Of course Russia then will cry about NATO "surrounding" Russia again. ::)

Quote
"will become targets for Russian nuclear missiles"
I would be very surprised if they already weren't.

About nukes bringing peace: ever heard about proxy wars? While probability of global war indeed diminished significantly, smaller conflicts are more numerous. Such is paradox of stability-instability.

About Russia-NATO war: I can't see why USA or EU would want to start war with Russia in current geo-political situation (not to mention whole MAD thing). This is conspiracy theory-level of paranoia right here. Including bare-chested Putin riding on laser-eyed bear.

What will be next? Which country will have it's Russian miniority suddenly discovering they need "protection" (or whatever BS excuse will be used by Russia)? One thing is certain - it will not end with Ukraine. Crimea anshluss and invasion of Ukraine is just beginning of Cold War 2.

We can only hope it will not end up with major european war, but I am not that optimistic. Putin want to resurrect USSR v2.0. If he manages to discredit NATO, all bets are off.

Regarding the 'surrounding by nato' image, they forgot to color in Azerbaijan, or whichever that country is between Georgia and the Caspian Sea.
