I don't think it's a bad thing for a political party to fill their government with academic professors and Union leaders, instead of 'people with management experience', which usually comes down to exactly what Yannath accuses "trade unions and hard socialist places" of, having connections instead of skill.
I don't approve how the media has Syriza apart as 'left wing extremist' party. They are not extremist. I haven't seen them call to nationalize all private companies or somesuch. What they appear to want, is an end to dogmatic, relentless EU forced policy of reducing expenses everywhere, instead of investing in society to increase spending power.

So you are both for and against Unionists in government position?

No, where do you read that?

EDIT: hmmwell okay, if you consider Union leadership equivalent to management experience, I guess you have a point.

I just tried to say that IMO, corruption, and connections over skill are more predominant in a defined generalized group called 'people with management experience' than amongst 'academic scientists' and 'Union leaders.'

Fuck, misread that - I thought you agreed with Yannath on 'those socialist places', which struck me as odd.

IMHO they were the only non-extremist party running.

Extremist doesn't mean much anyway. I like to call extremist those who call for violence and mderate those who don't. I don't alway support moderates, but I usually do.

That doesn't strike me as a particularly rigorous definition.  One could advocate many extreme things that aren't violent.

Extreme in that context is useless in any international discussion. A very moderate Chinese would be an extreme radical in Europe or in the US. An average european socialist would be a radical leftist in the US, a moderate Saudi would be a radical Islamist in Europe and so on.

Er... so we have a "Radical Left" party that is casually flirting with hard-line Russian capitalists... that's what being in the center means, I guess. The worst scenario I can think of is that Tsipras plans on becoming a copycat Putinist dictator ŕ la Orbán, but I'll try to stick to my positive outlook, for now.

BBC making a TV channel that will probably be UKIP: The channel

In the interest of political neutrality, the BBC should now be forced to make some extreme leftie channel, featuring the forced redistribution of wealth, and some sort of make over show that changes entire streets into communal work houses.

The best part is that the Greeks voted for him, after dealing with Merkel's "austerity measures" for 6 years.

Meaning, it was Merkel who threw the Greece into Russian hands. Irony is overflowing.
