Russian Tupolev bombers intercepted and escorted out of Dutch airspace twice today by F16 fighters. while they were on their way to, and returning from a UK flyover taunt mission.
Apparently that's nothing new, since the last 5 years Russia has been sending bombers over Europe a few times a year, to test NATO reaction time, and as a means of showing muscle.

Doubt that. Then Putin would kill his own daughter, who lives in Amsterdam.

German media report a Lithuanian diplomat to have been kidnapped and killed in Donetz. I wonder how that'll turn out.

EDIT: Terrorism. Straight-up terrorism. Start blowing up military installations in St. Petersburg and Moscow, and assassinating politicians. Attack their supply lines, and their reserve soldiers. Attrition can go both ways.

I do not advocate this course of action, but under the assumption that this conflict will be decided through military means, it seems sensible.

Do you know what directly lead into the Second Chechen war? Terroristic acts did.

Oh, you want to scare Ukrainians with a war when it is already in process? Amusing

It's currently at very low intensity. Compare it to Iraq, Vietnam, and Syria wars, and you'll see the difference.

As is, Ukraine is not currently being bombed by these. Or these.

I don't have the link, but didn't Ukraine find Russian papers I'd etc in some abandoned armoured vehicles identifying the owners as elite Russian paratroopers ?
If you can kick them out....

Ukraine can only come out on top of the current situation if it is the well behaved plucky lil guy underdog in doing the right thing and standing up for itself, limiting how overt the Russian influence can be. If it were to sanction anything even slightly resembling terror attacks against Russia, it is playing into the hands of Putin, and gives a casus belli for serious escalation that the UN/NATO could do nothing about, and as a result Ukraine would find itself standing alone against a justifiable invasion. Its war is not against the Russian people, and instead is against Putin's desire to interfere.

Let's assume that tomorrow Putin starts carpet bombing Ukraine without any kind of casus beli. Do you want to say me that EU\NATO will join us in a war?

Well I would expect then to immediately start mass missile/bomb strikes on the invading army, at least. Also, Poland would most likely run to help with their tank armies.

The thing is, Ukraine isn't in NATO so Article 5 will not cover it. Whether the rest of the world would do anything to defend Ukraine is sadly questionable.

EDIT:Maybe train their troops, give intelligence assistance and probably some supplies. But that might be enough. Though I don't believe that Putin would launch a public invasion into Ukraine.

That last gobbo would stand there, missing an arm, punctured in a kidney, liver, and spleen, fading in and out of consciousness at the far end of where the drawbridge would go, and his last sight would be the drawbridge dropping down and smashing him like a bug.

God DAMN I love this game!

Yeah, I see direct military intervention as likely as 1980s WW3 war because of Afghanistan

Is article 5 covered if invited NATO troops are shelled?
