I like how nothing you just said has anything to do with reality, except "Some monument dun got bloooowed up" :V

* Descan hides in his flame-proof bunker.

Well, Putin seems to be moving towards some sort of light pseudo Soviet Union while to Russians everybody who is not Russian is automatically a fascists or nazi. (Although Russia has a lot of neo-nazis.) To very-very broadly generalise.

EDIT. Gotta solve that humanitarian crisis, yo!

I guess they're sending bricks and masons to repair the great soviet monument?

They're nearly as bad as badgers. Build a couple of anti-buzzard SAM sites marksdwarf towers and your fortress will look like Baghdad in 2003 from all the aerial bolt spam. You waste a lot of ammo and everything is covered in unslightly exploded buzzard bits and broken bolts.

In Georgia it was "peace enforcement"
In Ukraine it will be "humanitarian invasion"?

I love how everyone assumes that a mission led by Red Cross is automatically a hostile invasion.

UR, the peacekeepers were already inbetween the Georgia and Abkhazia; and they were there legally.

Yeah I'm sure Ukraine is very grateful for the Russian "help".

Yeah and Russian forces were legally in Crimea

You see, if USA will start an invasion into Cuba and use Guantanamo to say  "hey, American forces there are legal. " that will not change the fact that it is aggression

As small detachment of Russian peace-keepers didn't change anything in August 2008 when Russia moved troops in Ossetia, Samr goes for March 2014 when Russia moved troops in Crimea

Sure they changed something: they were (at least in Russian media) attacked by Georgian forces, thus giving Russia a "peace restoration" casus belli. And casus belli are srs bsns.

Anyway, back to the convoy. I don't think that actual invasion will happen (can't count that out. Putin is not a sane person)
I think the idea of that is to make Ukrainian army react on that, delaying liberating of Donetsk.

Putin is not a sane person
I object to that. He's extremely rational and sane person, he could not have stayed in power for long otherwise.

<confused>
About a week ago, NATO reported about 20000 Russian troops near the Ukrainian border.

About 3 days ago, Putin assured that all Russian forces have ended their excercise, and all of them have returned to their home bases.

Today, Ukrainian army claims 45000 Russian troops, 160 tanks, 1360 armoured vehicles, 390 artillery systems, 150 rocket systems, 192 combat fighters, and 137 attack helicopters have amassed near the border.
Reports also come in of Russian artillery deploying on Ukrainian soil and firing at Ukrainian army.

I ... lost count

So, this red cross story sounds like a non-issue humanitarian mission to me.
Are you guys concerned about the red cross having a russian military escort or something? Is that normal?

If I were Poroshenko, I'd be more worried about their presence in the war zone & collateral damage. But it's a great PR opportunity for everyone.

It looks like America and EU are making great haste now, to make sure a UN-backed international humanitarian aid mission is deployed to the the region, to prevent Russia from sending it's own mission.

You know what would be even better? A joint US-EU-Russia humanitarian mission, that way everybody keeps everybody in check.

Unless said humanitarian mission involves everybody sending troops in.....
