no country should have to rely on food imports to get by, such a situation invariably leads to famine when harvests half across the globe fuck up for random reasons
& when the local supply randomly fucks up (drought, flood, famine, crop diseases etc..)? Seems a more likely scenario, then everywhere else fucking up simultaneously.
2008 economical crisis
I'd take economical crisis(s) (damn it what's the plural - crisi?, crisises?) more seriously if I noticed actual changes in the quality of life of the people around me, rather then multiple news articles. Apologises to anyone who may of suffered hardship at the time, I'm just very cynical about how many economic disasters actually happen (as in actual people doing it hard) & how many are a combination of media hype & panic reactions. If I trusted the media on this one then I've just been through several serious economic disasters in the last several years, while strangely not noticing a difference in the quality of my life (or those around me).
Ukraine independence is not allowed, did you hear that, Ukrainian Ranger? Your dream will never be realized.
I suggest you to worry not about Ukrainian independence but consider a vegetarian diet
Hey, self-induded (or at least Putin-induced). Sounds like more Australian lamb, pork & beef for my enjoyment. I wont complain. I'm sure plenty of Australian businesses would love to sell you that meat, but your government just decided that's not on. More seriously, in my opinion you'd get less food problem maintaining healthier relations with neighboring countries then us against them or isolationist/protectionist attitudes. I'm fine with a country being self-sufficent in this area (kind of sensible really), but it's hardly a disaster to go the other way & import food, & just maintain healthier relations with other nations. (& as Helgoland said, multiple sources suppliers)
