I think a better question is what fraction of people... China is huge, in land-mass and in people, but it's only one country, while Armenia and Azerbaijan are tiny but 2.

Meanwhile Armenia and Azerbaijan are getting closer to a new war

This makes me wonder: What fraction of the countries in the world are currently dealing with war, ethnic conflict, large-scale terrorism, etc?

Not really, my country that neighbours Poland, also has many health related problems with food from Poland. Classic case was road salt used for food processing. But there were also overdosed chickens with substances similar to human anabolics. Polish production is known to be low cost and they aren't afraid to bend a few laws to get some reduction in cost.
TLDR : What you pay for is what you get.

Actually, what you brought up is less no-fuck-givery and more inefficient and occasionally outright corrupt investigators and/or government at the time. In the article you linked, a similar case in Iceland is linked, although the link is dead. It's neither much better or much worse.

The embargo is absolutely clearly politically motivated, and Russia pulls this stuff EVERY. SINGLE. TIME there's a diplomatic conflict of some sorts between the two countries. Although it traditionally was meat, but at the beginning of the Ukrainian crisis Russia already embargoed Polish pork because of the ASF infections being reported... in boars, who crossed the border from Belarus where the outbreak started. It took several months before there was a single documented infection in a pig.

I get that the faded ones are quite old, and that the solid ones are relatively recent, but what's with the bouncing ones?

They're the biggest issues, I think? Can't say I've heard of those Afghan floodings before, but than again I don't really use the site. Just remembered I had it bookmarked somewhere.

I didn't know there was a Thai insurgency. Interesting.

Heh. Nature thought the sanctions weren't sufficient.

Or maybe life literally shat on Putin.

IIRC, in Russia, being shat on by a bird is regarded as a sign of good fortune.

Hey, a bird pooped in your eyeball! You'll be lucky!

According to Russian omens, it's a bad sign if a bird shits on a car (possible car crash) or on the bride or the bridegroom during wedding (the marriage is actually a marriage of convenience and will surely break up).

May be in some other part of Russia, yet in my own culture it's treated as a good sign :)

You should remove the t=380 part from the URL - it links straight to the credits.

Russian propaganda called "anti-imperialist".

That's... amusing, especially considering the current Ukraine shenanigans :P
