A mushroom is one type of fungus.

I'm fairly certain they don't cause fungal infection, though I guess I could be wrong.

But I suppose so. Decomposer type thing? I see. I had a mental picture of DF Mushroom men nomming an adventurer. Rather sad that is not the case :P

Officially it isn't. Russia doesn't care though, the mushrooms will find you.

Also, is your high-school specifically oriented toward chemical education? I honestly can't wrap my head about someone straight out of high school doing real research, unless he spent all his time training by himself.
