A country needs to only have a very small part of it's territory in Europe to be considered European.

That would make almost every bloody nation on the globe European, what with all them embassies and whatnot.

My definition of Russia doesn't extend beyond the Ural mountains so I consider Russia European.

...i'd say in the same way kazakhstan is european

besides, isn't the eu an union of values more than just a clump of countries that happen to be european? because i'm up to 80% sure turkey does not share said values on at least a leadership level.

-Successor state to the Eastern Roman Empire
-Historically a major influence in South-East Europe
-Adopted the latin alphabet under Atatürk, generally followed the lead of the Western European powers with nationalism etc.
-Long-time ally/friendly nation for many European states (“Die Liebe der Türken und Deutschen zueinander ist so alt, daß sie niemals zerbrechen wird.” ~Bismarck)

So yeah, Turkey's as European as Greece or Cyprus.

Officially not European. Though truly, European doesn't really matter. For example, Cyprus(Asia) technically isn't European, while Turkey is. (Well, a small part of it anyway)

If there's a place you can't derive the stereotype of European values from, it's certainly not Greenland. They have a bit of animals rights issues though.

Really, just post a list and tell us to start devouring it~ Will be faster for every one of us.
