Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Nah, his muscles still contract reflexively through it all. On closer inspection, it looks like one of the policemen stops to spit on him, not sure about the other ones.

As far as I know he is among guys that got jailed for two months.  He was never treated by independent medics so it's hard to say what kind of injuries he got.

There are no recorded deaths, but currently 23 persons are missing... and with brutality like that it's quite possible that some people are killed and their corpses well hidden by occupation forces... I mean police

Do you have any data on how many people have been arrested?

It's a bit of a stretch to compare this to the protests in 2013 in Turkey, but over 4000 people were arrested in those two months. Some were not directly participating in the protests, but were arrested for inciting riots or some rubbish like that. Are you aware of any 'dubious' arrests like that?

Thanks for keeping us updated.

Officially 13 are arrested. As for more arrests. People very well understand that there are will be thousands of arrests should we fail, one more reason to not give up.

People are determined and quite fired up. For example, right now, in one small town, people are blockading all exits from a nearby military base with their own cars because barracks are used as a temporary base for the riot police

Here comes why I think think the Trans-Atlantic-Free-Trade-Agreement is a terrible idea.

Look what they are doing in the Trans-Pacific agreement:

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2013/nov/19/trans-pacific-partnership-corporate-usurp-congress
and the raw data

TAFTA has such a nice ring to it though.

I'm not going to debate economic policy: It wastes time that could be spent at least pretending to be meaningful. However, from a international policy perspective, anything between the US and the pacific nations is between the US and the pacific nations and subject to those particular negotiations; Unless you believe the European governments would find everything there unobjectionable, in which case I don't see a problem, those negotiations are strictly between those parties.

Furthermore, this sorta seems US-themed, especially link 2, which details the use of a US procedural rule.

Pedophile organization, by now pretty much an urban legend, made sort-of-well-known by South Park.

At first I was like "why are there so many anarcho-syndycalists over there?"
Then I found out that these are UPA flags and my opinion of this organisation is kinda different...
