Meanwhile in Crimea

http://www.worldbulletin.net/todays-news/146190/russians-burn-books-to-liquidate-crimeas-ukrainian-past

The solution is to use ebooks!

From the other articles on the side, looks like there is also some trouble with relations between Crimea and Turkey. Not to mention targeting of the Crimean Tatar population, which isn't surprising.

It's most probably a Russian submarine.

So what would you say if it is captured and the soldiers taken prisoner?

why finns have submarines is a mystery to the world

do they plan to torpedoshiv russian fishing boats

or blow up the ship swedish hockey players would be on

It's most probably a Russian submarine.
So what would you say if it is captured and the soldiers taken prisoner?

wishful thinking, that sort of shit also didn't happen during the cold war even though swedish territorial waters were breached more or less regularly

How do you plan on capturing a submarine without killing everyone in it?

Seriously, how?

Damage or otherwise force to surface, point big shooty cannons at the sub and regular-sized shooty rifles at the crew?

Unfortunately this is not the first time. It happened few times in past 10 years. Hack even the referendum for independence on crimea happend one or two times in the past. They are very anti ukraine oriented, so it is not that much a surprise that russia invaded it first.

You can't exactly damage submarine without risking a major chance of killing everyone in it.

"Surface and surrender or we will launch ASW missiles and sink your junky Soviet submarine, as you are foreign military personnel operating in our territory without our permission."
They don't exactly have radio down there... How will you get the message to them? Also, they're probably explicitly forbidden from surrendering and risking getting the precious equipment (and missiles!) into the hands of the enemies.

Re: 1 - presumably the crew knows it themselves. And presumably the crew is not a bunch of Death Seekers.

Re: 2 - ...it's not WWII anymore. Regular radio won't work when submerged because of the fact that water has a pretty high absorbance at radio wavelengths, but subs totally do have comms nowadays. It's often text-only, but nonetheless. And again, most people aren't terribly fond of dying when they're not even in the state of war with the nation in question.
