If you want rampant unemployment, look at Spain, not the US, and please quit trying to be jingoistic, if you aren't American.

Or maybe you're just joking/being sarcastic, hard to tell over the net.

Honestly, I'm confused, I thought phmcw was European?

German media don't blame (or talk much at all) about austerity, they rather blame Merkel's government for some expensive gifts to the voters.

Just great... how the hell did they sell this austerity buiness to the Germans? That goes against economy 101!
Now not only will Germany's economy sink, but the only decisions that could save it will be unpopular...
Well, it's quite simple, austerity within Germany, at least in many sectors, isn't that strongly noticeable for voters, thus it is more or less accepted as necessary. Financing other EU countries however is quite unpopular with voters, because there is no control over what they do with the money.

I'm was pretty sure the way I said it was clearly saying that I though it's a very bad thing? I'm not exactly fond of having my rights and wealth stolen while governments are trying to distract me with war.

And I'm from Belgium, fear our beers!

I thought you were still talking about the US when you mentioned about the unemployment rate. Somehow.

I never said or thought that you thought it was a good idea. I only said that the aerial bombardment isn't exactly working.

"And instead of initiating a bidding contest between Germany’s two tank builders—Landsystem-Häuser Rheinmetall and Krauss-Maffei Wegmann—for political reasons the ministry gave the contract to a consortium of both companies. The absence of real competition is costing the army dearly."

Who was saying about a lack of competition in Russia? UR?

The Europe doesn't look any better now, yes?

Yeah I believe it was.

Also, as far as the stuff about using tractor engines earlier (was that about Germany or Russia?), there are many US defense contractors that also do other things.

I might have been thinking of the AGG thread, did a quick search for tractor in this thread and didn't find what I was thinking of.
