Really the only thing that prevents the West from getting all friendly with Iran is all the anti-Israel stuff. We don't give a shit about Pakistan's nuclear weapons, we - or at least our governments - didn't give too large a shit about South Africa's nuclear weapons program during Apartheid, if Saudi Arabia went nuclear we'd probably just shrug - the only reason Iran's nuclear weapons program is special because it appears to be directed against Israel.

Why choose either? Iran is a country that funds countless terror organizations throughout the world with presence in almost every continent all the way from its close neighbour iraq  and as far as south and central america. up until recently when ISIS took their lead in syria, Shia-Iranian funded terror groups were commonly considered as the extremists and that's still true in some countries (Yemen).

Iran still execute criminals on almost a daily basis and that's just from the official numbers.

the problem with america is that while you can, pretty much even as a layman, point fingers at terrorist groups funded by iranians, it'd take a half-decent espionage agency to find out which ones the americans are throwing arms at nowadays

i mean, south america is pretty well known, but they've stopped fucking with it on a more-or-less basis

i am not opposing your basic argument, because, well, nobody can argue against the truth, but still, let's consider a few questions:

Why and against Who the US fund terror organizations? which country would you rather immigrate to, the US or Iran?

How come there is barely any syrian immigration to iran?
